Hi I am too poor to pay for models at GW so I was wondering if there's any way to make cheap models that are paintable with cheap Acrylic paints, without spending too much money on it. Also they need to be realistic enough to not be caught at GW because they are against not using GW bought models in the store.

thx in advance

Also please don't say that it's bad to do this b/c I already made up my mind.

Sort of in a way. For a while I was making a Tzeentch themed Daemon army out of rocks. I've seen one made of different sized foam cubes and necrons made of bits of sprue.
Daemons will probably be the easiest followed by Orks. The only reason they have the advantage over the Orks is thanks to Tzeentch you have a lot of room to move with conversions. For the Orks you can just get cardboard or whatever and build all sorts of vehicles and such, but you'll still need Orks in the end.

Pretty much if you use your imagination and be creative you at least have a shot. If it looks cool enough they may let you use them, though it will vary from store to store depending on the manager there. Some will refuse it.

So, you cheat as much as you can in games and are trying to cheat the GW system too?

you should feel bad

You're not Jess Goodwin and you're not going to scratchbuild models that GW staffers can't tell aren't theirs. Don't bother because there are better alternatives for those without the cash.

Find a friend, download some rules and buy some green plastic army men from the 99 cent store.

Where did the cheating in games come from?

You're better off not gaming in a GW store. Then you can use what you like.

I see, rather pathetic in a way.

I'm at a loss for words.

Maybe it's because I don't have a competitive bone in my body. Maybe it's because I just like painting and converting great minis and occasionally playing with them. But... Wow... Just... Wow...

I'm really glad that I don't know, and haven't met anyone like you.

(seen in the light of this thread and your cheat thread)

I've no doubt there are people like the OP, but he seems a bit too self-aware to be real.

Sounds like any of the GW game are not for you. Too poor to buy proper models combined with wanting to cheat by breaking others stuff, dice rolling techniques and what not.

May I suggest a skirmish game like Malifaux, where a deck of cards is used, only a few models. Start up about $40.

And that game encourages cheating, it is in the rules.

Get out of Warhammer, Warhammer 40k etc.

May I suggest 1 of 2 things, and both require imagination:

1: LEGOS!
Example:

2: PAPERCRAFT!
Example:

Now, there is in no way, shape, or form that any GW will accept this, but if you've some friends that don't mind, you can still enjoy the game

Addition:
As for the cheating thing.... well.... go eat dice.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

If you've already made up your mind about something you're not allowed
to do, then maybe you don't need to discuss it. Closed.
