That's fabulous the skin is a perfect muted colour and darker to show rank and age. The yellow is a superb contrast to the Leathery brown colours and has been executed very well, the Weathering is good to show wear and tear but not so much to represent carelessness this Mek obviously takes pride in his handiwork as should you.

Great job - one of the most fun units to run it a game.

My only issue is the cross plaster on the leather tubing of the gun should probably be the same colour as the brown patch near where the snotlings get sucked in, it doesn't fit in well being the same colour as the original leather, and would help to break up the monotony of it a little.

AV720 you're absolutely right, and that's why I love posting stuff on forums – people pick up things I don't even notice! I will go back and paint the patch a different colour.

I note there are a few comments on the skin. I too like the duller, more "realistic" tone. In truth it was very easy – Bleached Bone base coat, Devlan Mud wash, Thraka Green Wash x2, Devlan Mud wash. Done!

Wow! That's a really nicely done model. The checks are great, and the skin tone is really good.

I do have one (very minor) suggestion. The meks mallet, on his left hip, appears to have a wood head, and appears to be splayed outward (probably from bonking grots on the bonce). I would recommend a little lighter wood tone there, to suggest the fraying of the wood fibers. It would also make the mallet a little brighter and more visible. You could easily argue that blood had soaked into the wood and kept it dark, but why not use the other option to give another highlight to the model?

In any case, it's a very good job.

Nice model! I love Shokk boyz! I also go for a darker skin on orks, I always find the lighter the skin - the more cartoony it looks!!!!!
