Hey is there like a technique to roll dice? Some of my opponents seem to have crazy luck.

I saw an article on here about the dice themselves- In a nutshell rounded edges lead to worse rolls and square edges lead to more even rolls.

There is a such thing as controlled dice throwing but it takes practice and secondly is dishonest.

Dice are there to introduce a random element to the game, any attempt to manipulate that is cheating. People should just roll the damn dice and get on with the game.

This made me chuckle. I'll be back just lifting what I said on another post here.

Well, you see, GW wrote a book on the subject. I can't stop rolling 6's (and ones for leadership)!

In all seriousness, I do what most people do.

Grab the necessary dice, shake them between my two cupped hands and gently roll them into a dice box thing or on some open table space. Repeat for every dice roll.

It's all about the angle and speed you roll your dice. I personally try to get all my dice rolling straight for a 1/4 chance of a 6. The best plane being the one with the 5 and 6.

Other things that shouldn't really make a difference but appear to is picking up a 1 to make the save of your Terminator statistics state it's got the same chance but your mind tells you that It's improbable for it to roll the same result, and It seems to work.

There is such a thing as good dice, each one has slight weight tendency to a particular side. If only by minute amounts It does make a difference.

I rolled every dice in my pack to find out what the mode was for that particular dice, I found my pack rolling a majority of 5-6's so I have that pack as my high rolling one. I have another pack that mostly is in the small numbers 1-2's perfect for LD tests.

None of this are what people would consider dick moves, like slightly nudging units or distracting an Opponent for that extra inch. If your suggesting that you want those Techniques then your effectively TFG.

Dice rolling techniques are common people have a certain style that works for them, mines worked so good I'm forbidden from doing my dice shuffle move. Which is effectively rolling the dice in my hand to get the correct plane. It only takes seconds I'm not ordering them as a one thing on my hand after all.

The hand motion is simple you put your hand as low down on the board as possible to negate faulty bounces that would otherwise mess with the correct plane for high dice rolls.

Awesome video showing what is possible after many years of practice.

Personally, I either make sure to give them a good toss against terrain, or I use my dice cup. I prefer the cup, personally.

On the subject of edge types and pips on the die themselves... I really don't think about that kind of stuff. I have dice. I use the dice. That's pretty much the extent of my thought process.

I try to pick out the dice that have just rolled the number i don't want.
For example when i need to roll armour saves i will pick out the to wound dice that rolled 1's. I would avoid the dice that rolled 6's.

People who do a dice 'plop' by gently settling their hand on the table and letting the dice fall 1-3" instead of a drop with a roll strike me as odd.

I don't know if they're cheating,

I don't know if they're trying to cheat.

I just know I don't like how it makes me feel when i see them roll that way.

I hate playing against those kind of people the most. That kind of rolling just makes me boil; I can't prove that its unbalanced, but it certainly irks me.

Heresy. Dice Ploppers are a Irritation very Irksome.
There is no Roll in that, my method still accounts for lukc but makes it 1/2 a chance for a 5/6 with the Majority of Dice.

A couple times I've had to appologize for rolling so well. Rolled 6 6+ saves for my orks one time. My last fantasy game I channeled for power/dispel dice every magic phase until turn 4 with 1 caster.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
