I have a few Tactical Terminators... Are they worth taking, even with Lysander?
In my opinion? No, not really. When you could take two heavy weapons per 5 men and tank hunters
USR, they were awesome, but generally I don't find them very useful now. They no longer,
IMO, have enough firepower to really go for as a shooting unit, and in
CC a 5++ is poor protection when you swing at I1.
Consider: With Lysander, you spend a minimum of 400 points to give rerolls to a handful of storm bolters. 400 points buys a lot of tactical marine bolters and pods/rhinos. They can score objectives too, and generally contribute a lot more to the army. Heck, it buys a lot of land speeders, preds, etc.
or should I get some Assault Termies and conver them?
I converted mine with the lightning claw arms from the
AT boxes, when I was done building
TH/
SS.
I need a purpose for the LRC, is there another good use besides ATs?
Honestly, besides ATs nothing really requires more than 12 capacity. Any land raider in the vanilla book can do that. The next best assaulty unit to come out of there are going to be vanguard veterans with a chaplain, or honor guard with a chaplain. Neither is going to require more than 11 capacity. Stuff them in the
LRC, shrug your shoulders about the wasted empty slots inside, and go shoot and charge something!
but so far the Dreads and Tac. Termies SUCK
Put the dreads in pods. Drop them on her vehicles and multimelta, or tarpit large blobs!
