Subject: Has anyone tried using this to strip models?

I am in the middle of a fairly large army repaint, 200+ models, and I have a question.
I have used Simple Green, and it seems like it doesn't really get the job done, even with brushing with a toothbrush. I have left models in a container of it for a week plus, and the paint is still a hassle to get off.
What I'm looking for is something that makes the paint basically come off by itself. I know that's a little much to ask for, so I suppose I'm looking for something better than Simple Green. I also need something that hopefully will take off a couple layers of paint, without loosing details.
I was recommended this by a few people, http://www.testors.com/product/137350/F542143/_/ELO_Paint_%26_Decal_Remover_8oz.
Anyone use it? Know if it works well enough where there is little scrubbing required?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Duff.

I've never heard of Dettol. After a quick google search, is it a hand soap? Or is there a cleaner that I didn't see?

Try Dawn Power Dissolver.
Dettol isn't available in the US.

I did find it on Amazon though. And with the power of the internet, anything is available in the United States... If you're willing to spend the money.
But I will give the Dawn Power Dissolver a try, thanks.

Dettol works great.
Make sure it's the brown liquid though, the others won't work.

Over here in Britain I use fairy power spray. I tried it today. It's about $4-$5. You spray it on leave for 10 minutes then the layers slide off with a bit of scrubbing for the primer.

Dawn Power Dissolver is the US version. It even has exactly the same bottle and they're made by the same company for the same task. I don't know why they re-brand them like that.

As was probably imagined, the United States has Simple Green and GB has Dettol/Fairy Spray.
You won't find Dettol unless you order it online. If you want a good, quick way to eat the paint off of plastics, I highly suggest:
PURPLE POWER Degreaser/Cleaner
Link:
I found it at my local Dollar General. I stripped my Rhinos in under a day (actually, close to about an hour each, totalling 3 Rhinos).
I actually just finished a control test, to determine whether or not it will adversely effect the miniature itself over an extended period of time (a couple fully primed/ painted nid bits)
They've been sitting in it for about 2 weeks now, with no issue (no plastic softening, no melting, no nothing). The paint is coming off just from my touching it with my skin.
Just be careful with it. It's a little caustic, and chemical burns really don't feel good. I suggest some rubber gloves. It's not bad, but extended contact does hurt.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one? |

As a guy that has striped ALOT of minis in my day I have 2 suggestions. LAs totally awesome, in my sig is a link to a thread on using the stuff. The other is this stuff here
The super clean you can buy at basically any car parts store, autozone and so on. Becareful as it eats your skin something fierce, and I only use it for the toughest WTF paint stringing sessions. Its totally safe on minis though, so wear some latex gloves or something.
Also, it greatly depends on what was used to paint the minis before hand. Some people dont use the normal water based acrylic paints, and if they used, for example, regular testors paint, that stuff can be a real PITA to get off. So if your having trouble stripping the paint, Id say go for the big ass purple jug of super clean

Super Clean, and a heated ultrasonic cleaner if you can afford one in your gaming budget.

Warm Superclean wins every fight around 110 degrees it eats every type of paint, superglue, and Greenstuff. It is safe on plastic, metal, armorcast resin, and FW resin. I have not tried it on Failcost resin, but I would guess that it would be ok, test first.
It eats paint off of cars and may mess up counter tops, it also eats through basic rubber or nitrile (sp?) gloves. I have a pair of chemical gloves because it disolves the oils in your skin, really dries my skin and is mildly irritating.
STILL BUY IT and USE it.
