I'm looking for a dremel that would have various size bits including a 3mm bit so I can drill a hole in the back of space marines to magnetise their backpacks.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I bought a hand drill from WaylandGames, or maybe it was Maelstrom Games - don't really recall.
I think mine is made by ArmyPainter, and it comes with 4 or 5 different bit sizes.

Whichever as long as it has a 3mm drill bit.

Should of said, I'm not looking for anything too expensive. I only need it for a bit of magnetising.
Anything hand held will do but I can't find anywhere that does a drill with 3mm bits :L

A pin vice drill is probably the most useful. The Tamiya handy drill is also good if you can import one

Personally, I own a cheap little Precision Knife Set I got from Radioshack:

Then, after a little while, I needed something similar to you. I got a Micro-chuck:

Then, I got the drill bits I needed, also from my local hardware store, specifically a wire gauge drill bit.
If you already have a pin-vice, skip all the other crap I just posted, and check out:

I have both a pin vise and small model drill for drilling hole for magnetising, and i can honestly say that the cheap £3 pin vise from wilkos is the best tool for the job.
both can fit a various size of drill bit, also a couple of quid for a pack of 10 from most diy stores.

Any suggestions on a dremel? I'm guessing it would make pinning and magnetising a lot quicker.

Even at their slowest speeds dremels spin to fast for this kind of work, best to stick with either a hand drill or a Tamaya hobby drill.

You'd be surprised how quickly a sharp drill bit will bore out a piece of plastic. A dremel would speed it up, but dremels run so fast you will often see the plastic melt. I have a dremel and I never use it for magnetizing. The hand drills give you much more control.
The best pin vise is the one from Tamiya. Tamiya also makes two drill bit sets, one of which includes a 3mm bit.

It makes it too fast, youll go too deep and not have enough control. All you need is a pin vise and a set of drill bits

nah, i use my dremel all the time, as long as you get the stylus with adjustable speed, and keep it at lowest speed, the plastic won't melt

+1 for the dremel stylus, it may be more than your willing to spend but I love mine and once you attach the quick chuck its a piece of cake. And yes the speed is adjustable, your only melting plastic if your on the higher speeds. The pistol grip is great for precise control. Dremel also makes a precision drill bit set with all the right sizes for magnetizing.

I'll put my voice in for the dremel stylus. It counters a lot of the traditional issues you get with a dremel in fine detail work. The lowest speed on mine is perfectly fine to work on small plastic with AS LONG AS I have good control over it, which a stylus definitely provides.
Note that most dremels have a lower limit for bit size at around 1/8" and to go smaller, you have to get a special chuck that runs around 10$. Said chuck is fantastic and lets you use needle thin bits, but don't forget to buy it or you'll be turning around as soon as you get home and try to use your tiny bits.
