I actually just fought a necron Vs Necron match against a player with the tremor stave + C'tan combo.

It's overrated. He only killed like 2 guys, and none of them were destroyers (who, btw, are still worth it. Especially if they have a D.Lord.)

That said, this is a fairly good army that tells a nice story. Just don't expect tons of casualities from DT tests. It might, however, have a psychological effect on your opponent...

do you have the battlereport up? i am waiting to see some.

No sorry. I'm not sure it would count as it was a vassal game...that crashed . So really it was incomplete game.

I learn several things from this battle however -

-Warriors die ALOT....but the RP rolls will be useful

-Immortals with tesla carbines are actually pretty effective against most targets. They pretty much whittled down my warrior squads

-Immortals with Blasters murder anything with a 4+ save. Poor warriors...

-Mindshackle scarabs are hilariously useful. I robbed a C'tan of his attacks for several turns.

- Tremorstaves and that C'tan ability might look good on paper and may indeed prove useful...but its not a good idea to build an army around it. Its good for slowing the enemy down...if they do badly on their DT tests.

- Monoliths mishap easily. Fortunately, I rolled a 3. Now if it hadn't scattered, it could dropped a nice pie plate somewhere.

-Destroyers are gold. No really, they are. They can churn out decent shooting, with a gauss cannon and 2 Hcannons killing 3 immortals (not bad for 4 shots), and only 1 returning. In combat they can actually hold their own (of course, this was against immortals), and cause quite a bit of pain when they have a D.Lord with Mindshackle, an orb and a 2+ save.

Any thoughts on putting particlle beams on my doom blades? tesla carbines are cool but those particle beams look like they could be nasty on jetbikes.

I am sorry, but it isn't. Relying on glances to destroy a vehicle is a bad idea, especially at short range.
I think P.Beamers would be nasty. They are S6 AP5 blast right? That is a lot of S6 hits.

Edit - Actually, it could work, provided the target is a skimmer that moved flat out. All you will need is an Immobilized result then, which could be acquired on a glance.
Hell, I actually did that to a storm raven with 13 warriors. My destroyers then mopped up the GK that were inside.
