I LOVE the DS series, but I could never get over how the first gun in the game can get you through it all without any troubles.

Corpses still need to be stomped if they are already found "dead" and not rendered that way by player related mishaps.

Tali'Zorah: I appreciate what you're doing here, Shepard.
Commander Shepard: Well, I care deeply about the quarian people.
Tali'Zorah: It's good to be back on the Normandy.
Commander Shepard: Let me know if it's too quiet for you to sleep, and I'll find you someplace louder.
Tali'Zorah: Hmm.
Garrus Vakarian: Uh, I was there when you two had your thing, remember? Just get a room and work it out.

That's one thing Dead Space 1 ingrained on all of its players.

"See that corpse there, all innocent? In the next chapter it's going to beat the crap out of you after it gets infected and goes into supermode"

Get Assault Rifle and upgrade it to the end.
Try to always have your back turn toward corner or wall so you cannot be attacked from behind.
Aim at legs then head.
Chop off heads from dead bodies.
Collect as much things as you had ( ammo, health... ) and sell what you don't need at shop to have more founds.
And when the time comes that you are to scared or uncertain that you cannot advance into the next room, remember that Emperor protects and that nothing can't stand against the might of the Righteous.
Do your duty, remember your training, be ever vigiliant and faithful and you will get to the end of the game.

P.S. This is how I actually get DS 1 and 2. I guess I see 40k in every game now, especially when I play as a Human

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!
None shall stand against the Crusade of the Righteous!!!

The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

Want to beat the game on hard core?

I did it and the weapons i used were the forcegun, seeker rifle and only got the contact beam to sell ammo, as it is a really easy way to make money. The niffty weapon you get after beating it is worth it though. Found it very comical. PEW PEW PEW!!! BANG BANG BANG!!

Make sure you are carrying the minumum amount of medi packs you can manage. Say 3 small and one medium. Put them all in the locker. I dont know if it was just me but i found it FAR too easy to hit B (health hotkey) by mistake, often wasting a medium or precious large. The checkpointing is fairly lenient and i dont think i was ever at 100% health for like the whole game.

Also do not buy any other guns. If you buy other guns the randomised loot drops will chuck out ammo for the other guns and not the cutter. If you dont buy any other guns the loot drops will only very rarely chuck out different ammo. Which means more health and cutter ammo. Also dont be afraid to activate the node lockers, throughout the game you will have an abndance of these things and they arent exactly cunningly hidden.

If you absolutely HAVE to try all the guns NEVER use the Harpoon gun against the velociraptor things.

I thought the ripper(buzz saw blade gun) was great. I could destroy 2-3 enemies with one shot. You have to let them get close together since it doesn't have a great range on it but hey, they come running at you anyway. Those children are annoying though, especially when the exploding babies come at you. I love this game btw.
