I made this video a while back, and lately it has increased in views dramatically. When I looked at why, it is because people have been searching out tutorials on how to paint the lightning effects on the new necrons. I didn't think it was necessary to remake the video, as it is the effect I am showing, not the models.
Anyhow here is how I achieve the effect.... Comments here or on youtube is appreciated.
"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." have had a good look through pretty much all of your videos and have to say your doing some really great work! Although slightly annoying as only yesterday painted my landspeeder computers and having watched your computer screen tutorial and now they dont seem quite as good as they did!
I dont suppose you could shed any light on how to paint light coming from within a model, like from the tiny cracks in a necrons armour or such, as this effect has evaded me. ive tried the usual osl type effects and its not getting what i want. have you got any ideas?
