Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

So, i am participating in a little tournament coming up. 4 games. No special characters. No power scroll or Folding Fortress. 2500 pts. everyone submits their lists to our webgroup's filesharing.

So a beastmen list popped up. I have played all of a single game against beastmen, and it was a year ago christmas.

I will be using my ogres, list as follows.

Lords (15.52%)
Lvl4 Slaughter Master(Lore of the Great Maw(Crown of Command, Channeling Staff, Armor of Destiny, Ironfist)388 pts

Heroes (17.8%)
BSB (HA, Standard of Discipline) 149 pts
Lvl1 Butcher(Lore of Beasts(Hellheart) 150 pts
Lvl1 Firebelly (Dispell Scroll) 145 pts

Core (25.44%)
9 Bulls (Ironfists, Full Command) 318 pts
9 Bulls (Ironfists, Full Command) 318 pts

Special (27.68%)
Sabretusk 21 pts
Sabretusk 21 pts
4 Mournfangs (IFs, HA, Banner bearer, Bellower, Dragonhide Banner) 350 pts
4 Mournfangs (IFs, HA, Banner bearer, Bellower) 300 pts

Rare (13.6%)
Ironblaster 170 pts
Ironblaster 170 pts

2500 pts

His list is,

Beastlord(HA, Bezerker Sword, Enchanted Shield, Tali of Preservation, and Gouge Tusks)
Doombull(HA, Shield, Brass Cleaver, Gnarled hide, Uncanny senses)

Minotaur BSB(XHW, HA, Beast Banner)
Bray-shamen(lvl2, shard of the herdstone)

4 units of 5 ungor raiders with bows.

24 Gors(musicion, banner, XHW)

1 Foe-render

34 Ungors(Musicion, banner, Spear+shield)

1 half-horn(spear, shield)

2 Tusk-gor chariots

2 units of 6 Centigors(musicion, banner, spear, shield, throwing axes, LA)

24 bestigors(Musicion, banner, HA, GW)

I really have no idea whats going on with it, not sure whats a target or whats not.

I have a feeling his Doombull and BSB will be easy to snipe without the ability to LoS from my cannons.

Half-horn and Foe-render I really have no clue about.

You should have no problem. You are bringing a very competitive list, he is bringing a very "friendly" list. A competitive beastmen list normally has a horde of bestigor and a horde of gor with a beast banner BSB in it. A minobus is viable with a doombull and 1 or 2 gorebulls at the front but no minotaurs. Shard of the herdstone is a waste with 1 shaman he really should have 3 shaman around that thing to make the most out of it.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

I had a feeling,

This is a firendly enviroment, but they guys are highly skilled.

Should I feel bad about bringing my list

Anyway, what are half-horns and Foe-renders? Never heard of them and their stats seem kinda...poor, for single models anyway.

Half-horn and Foe-render are just the names for the Ungor and Gor champions, respectively. I play Beastmen and it seems like you shouldn't have too much trouble with that list. I mopped up some Ogres nicely a while ago, but it was before they got the rewrite. The thing with a Beastmen army is that it's very subject to dice rolling. If he is making his Primal Fury (gives unit Hatred, plus Frenzy on double 1 ) rolls all the time, then they become a bit more trouble. They have low leadership across the board so often taking a single combat round can do it (unless he is steadfast), or use a spell that targets leadership. Also watch for those Ungor raiders using the Beastmen Ambush ability. They're not particularly strong, but can be a thorn in your side.

"I have seen war in all its forms. I have seen feral world savages braining each other with stones and I have monitored the death of a whole planet at the hands of a virus bomb. I have seen Space Marines drop to certain death and win. I have seen Titans crush whole platoons underfoot.

But there is no more stirring sight in war than the charge of massed cavalry."

I was like, I know the name. They're unit champs, that's all.

Not sure if you can tailor your list to each guy, but if you could, a ward save isn't nearly as necessary. They got no war machines and no monsters and no nothing. If you did like Armor of Silvered Steel and then Arcane: Dawnstone, you'd come out way ahead.

He's got a LOT of units. Like 3x your number or something. So you're going to be getting hit on flanks a bunch.

I am stuck with my current list, and he with his. So it really isn't an option to tailor. I went for a well rounded approach overall.

A second question,

Orks and Goblins, whats a more important target? Arachnorok, 2 Mangler Squigs, Doom Divers, or Spear Chukkas? The list has all of these and I am wondering who needs some ironblaster love first?

Arach is by far the most points and can throw down a lot of attacks.

However, Manglers can't be charged. If you get near them to fight you get hit, and your guys will take casualties. Avg. probably 2+ Ogres ded.

BUT, Manglers can also just end up killing themselves by being silly O&G stuff.

Yeah, I'm thinking take out a Mangler and put some lead into the spider 1st turn(hopefully I go first) then on the 2nd turn try to finish the spider off and possably the 2nd mangler.

I am hoping i roll up Braingobbler so I can remove the 2 Squigherd Hordes.
