Ok a horde of 24 ogres looks good in my head around 36-37 str attacks sounds good to me not counting charaters. what do yall think of its vibility?

Not good. Id say max 8 in ranks of three wide.
How do you want to manouvre the 24 of them?

Send straight down the middle with tyrant would be my plan.

a Horde of Ogres is certaintly viable, but you have to have support.

24 Bulls with Ironfits will run you 798 points with Ironfists and command. 6 wide, no thicker or maneuverability will drop.

The horde needs to be supported by other smaller units, possably units of 9 ogres(bulls or IGs) to protect it's flanks.



The main weakness, and it isn't just hordes, is to the big uber I test or die spells.

True and that was kinda of my plan they be the center beatstick with some fang IG or bull flank support.

It's just asking for a mega spell of death to come eat their faces. Ogres have pretty lousy Init and can mass fail attribute tests and don't have ward saves. That's a lot of eggs in one basket.

My friend ran one and I smahsed it with a clan rats unit and doom wheel charge. It's a big unit and is a big cannon target.

I got purple sunned on a a unit of 9 ogres and i rolled 4 or better for every test turn 1 9 ogres died :( mega sad face luckily it stopped like 3 inches from my IG unit.

The only horde I've considered running is a unit of 17 Ironguts (plus lord/hero) standing six wide and three deep. Give them Std of Discipline and Crown of Command and they'll be there for the duration.

Alternatively you could give them that thing that allows them to reroll charge distance and run them three wide and six deep for some redicilously brutal impact hits.

Haha nice str rediculouse and 3d3 impact hits lovely. I don't want to get hit by that.

It's just asking for Spells O Doom. Even Dwellers, which tests vs. Str. will kill ~6 Ogres.

The only time I would consider running such a unit would be if their was a curtain down the centre of the table that only I was allowed to look around or open....

That's just begging for a Vampire with the Frostblade and Red Fury.

To be fair that would be a pretty tailored list since that combo is only super gross against ogres.
