Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

great battle report dave and thanks for coming to the event always fun to see you kicking some butt. Hope to see you at the bao and the broadside bash.
Nice games! Looks like you had a solid performance until that last round. Wish i could watch it but the videos don't seem to be working properly. Any chance you could re-link them?

Watched the last game and I have to say the videos are incredibly annoying. They did a great job covering the game and the camera angles are perfect, as well as the voice over commentary and the microphones, but there is a 30 second ad for every single video, and a banner ad that pops up every 60 seconds that takes up 1/3 of the screen on the first 6 videos I watched. I watched it because I know you and I really wanted to see how the game went, but had it not been a friend in the video I would have probably lost interest after the first two videos. I know advertising is important and all but it seems a little excessive.
Anyway, from what I saw it looked like your opponent was talking a bit of smack and could have done with a better sense of humor, but overall he played a good game. His dice were hot and he had a pile of firepower in that list, so seizing the initiative killed you. It would have been a vastly different game had he not seized.
As an aside, I always wonder about dice at major events. I buy mine right from Game Empire and have never once modified a set of dice, but if I roll hot in a game I always feel a little awkward, especially in a tournament. You never know when someone has messed with dice, and a part of me always wonders if that's what my opponent is thinking if I get on a hot streak. I wonder if it wouldn't be wise at events with major prize support to provide sets of marked, different colored casino dice for each player, then collect them at the end of the event (to re use them and keep costs down). That way everyone knows that everyone else is honest and nobody is tempted to bring loaded dice to an event. I know it would do wonders for my peace of mind on both sides of a hot streak. Anyway, it's just a thought.

Holy moly!!! Captain America went OFF in round 2! Love seeing those GK vendreds eat dirt.

Terrible rules-writing no doubt, but given that you basically can't play it RAW in any kind of sensible way lets you know that it can't be right.
