I'm working on a emperors spears counts as grey knights army. Does counts as rules allow for me to use spears instead of swords? Or because the weapon is a force SWORD it is not allowed? Thanks!

You should be fine with that, just make sure they look like spears and your opponent knows they are counts as swords. And try to make them look different to Halberds.

As long as it's distinguishable - especially from halberds - and you take the time to explain it to your opponent, you will be fine.

And remember that it is not you, but rather your opponent that decides whether the spears look like halberds and thus are not easily distinguishable.

So, as with all conversions, make it absolutely perfectly even-with-eyes-half-closed-and-the-lights-turned-down-low clear.

What about spears instead of chain swords in a codex space marine army? Same deal?

on the forum. Obviously

I would have them count as Halberds, but anyway...

Yes, its fine as long as its in your list, and you tell your opponent beforehand.

As long as they don't look like power weapons you should be fine.
