What is in your opinion big Emperor's biggest mistake?

For me that has to be letting the Primarch go wander the galaxy without teaching them danger it posses ( Chaos, Xenos etc... )
Very close to this would be not making the Adeptus Mechanicus to really invent something instead of looking for STC.

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!
None shall stand against the Crusade of the Righteous!!!

The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

The Emporer's greatest mistake I'd say would be not informing his sons about Chaos. I think he knew that at one point Chaos would try to interfere with his plans, considering the 'deal with the devil' he could possibly have made for the knowledge to create the Primarchs (maybe creating the Primarchs and beginning the Great Crusade was his biggest mistake? Now that would be very interesting). His actions do suggest that he might have been wracked with fear. The way he treated Lorgar was certainly one of his biggest mistakes, and that was what indirectly started the Heresy.

Putting to much trust in his sons, no doubt.

The Mechanicus did invent, up until he went unconscious. He was a man of science, and the religion was something that built up after his death, something he didn't want.

His biggest mistake was humiliating Lorgar. And not telling Magnus what he was doing.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

Creating the Primarchs in the first place.

He should have been more interested in elevating Humanity, rather than breeding Human+

Visualise the HH with a human leader, buffed by chaos.

Creating the primarchs in the first place.
"A multitude of rulers is not a good thing. Let there be one ruler, one king"
He should have made the space marines as they are, super-human and etc, just made the primarchs like a particularly strong space marine rather than OMGPOWERFUL.

The emperor didn't make a mistake. He knew the Heresy was inevitable, and its all part of his greater machinations.

Why not? After all, Tzeentch is running our country I kid, I kid (to anyone without a sense of humor). Seriously though, it is the kinda thing Tzeentch would do...

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Warning the Primarchs of the dangers of Chaos, crushing Horus immediately, those were the 2 things he SHOULD have done, which he didn't.

Teleporting Angron from his gladiator army and leaving them to die. Angron never forgave him for it and it easily could have been avoided. E could easily have either helped defeat the enemy armies, or evacuated the gladiators.

Secrecy about the true nature of the Warp to the Primarchs.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

College

1. Not teaching his sons about Chaos. Would you send your kids into the world without teaching them about crack cocaine?

2. Abducting Angron instead of just showing up in a glorious charge of golden light and helping him curbstomp all his enemies. This was just stupid.

3. Not nipping Lorgar's religious tendencies in the bud as soon as he found him. Lorgar even asks Magnus something along the lines of, "Why did he wait 300 years to tell me? Why did he let me build up this huge religious empire?" Whiny whine whine.

4. Not telling Magnus about the webway when he could have been the Emperor's greatest ally in constructing it.

Out of all of these I would have to say number 1, it is the mistake that caused the most problems.

I think my thoughts have already been echoed in everyone elses responses, but basically the Emperor's biggest flaw is his lack of transparency. If he had simply told his sons anything and everything that would've been pertinent to know, all could've been avoided

I think the big mistake was outlawing the use of psychers in the legions. It cost him a full legion of warriors with amazing abilities that would have been a great boon in the defense of the imperium during the heresy. And worst of all it made Magnus a traitor for trying to warn his father of the real treachery unfolding with Hours and some of his other brothers. Imagine if you will how things may have changed if Magnus was at the Emperors side during the final battle on the Vengeful Spirit. In the long run I think this may have been one of the bigger mistakes among many.
