I got bored of doing assault marines... so I painted a vindicator today.

I think it turned out quite well.. first large scale model I've turned my airbrush loose on so far!

It looks good, but I think it might look even better with larger contrasts between the light and dark areas. GOod work though!

I considered that, but in the end I decided it would look a bit cartoonish if I had done that....

I am sure you are right about the cartoon factor. But I think a bit of contrast would make it more defined. It is a huge (non-camo) green tank in the end.

true, it might have looked cooler.

But then it wouldn't fit in with the rest of the tanks in my army I have 3 predators, 3 dreadnoughts, 3 rhinos, a razorback, 2 land raiders, a vindicator, and 2 land speeders painted in a flat green (with some basic brush highlights).

If I were to deviate TOO much from that, this would look like it belongs to a different army.

I agree that a unified look in an army is very important, so definitely a good choice

And it does look good like this!!

Very nice. However, l think it could use some weathering.

what kind of weathering we talking? Mud around the tracks? or just nicks/dents battle damage.

I kinda like the shiny new look myself though.

Upping the contrast of the color modulation would look horribly cartoonish and, with the direction you've run your gradients, wouldn't actually do what MakeH wants it to. Doing some fine and subtle edgelining with a brush, however, would help tie the tank in with the rest of your vehicles while providing the edge definition it currently lacks. It's up to you, of course, but I think that's the way to go.
