Just buy the old ones if you don't like them. I think with the right paintjob, they would look fabulous.

Exactly. With a decent paint job (The New Flayed ones got gak jobs, needs more blood. A lot more blood.) these models are great.

I think they're ugly models but the one with the skinned dude on his back is hilarious. They're terrible units in-game and their models reflect that.

The one all the way to the left looks like he should be in a Michael Jackson video with that pose.

Seriously though, I have heard a lot of flak about these models. You don't like them? What's wrong with them? There was so little to work with in the original concept they couldn't have made them worse, could they? What is it about these models that I'm not seeing?

The problem is that the flayed skin looks more like toilet paper draped over the Necrons. Also, the skinless torsos they're carrying around look goofy as hell, and their poses aren't very good. The old models weren't great either, but they're not much of an improvement.

Shredded strips of skin does look like paper once it dries. I think it was good they got rid of the Freddy Kruger hands.

The one just wrapped in flesh and the one dragging the corpse look ok. Sadly the others just dont fit. They look too normal. Flayed ones are supposed to be completely and utterly insane in both the new and the old fluff.

Even with the new fluff them tying skulls to their bodies does not fit with their insane desire to try and constantly eat flesh because they would try and eat those skulls too. I mean, the one with a corpse tied to its back, according to the fluff, wouldn't have that corpse long enough for it to get tied up there.

I personally preferred the older insane with age and trying desperately to be organic again by wearing the skin of the previously living. These new models just don't seem to fit in either fluff well. which is a pity because flayed ones used to be my absolute favorite necrton unit.

Note: living in a backwater country, I cant get hold of the old models anymore sadly.

I think they needed a lot more blood, and while some look like they're dancing, the weapons are good - they really needed to paint more gore on them though. I quite like them. The only thing that makes me angry is the price - so I've been cheap and modelled them from warriors, replacing the hands with spear tips and swords etc with green-stuff skin. They're looking okay (if a bit samey) but I'd rather that than pay £51 for 130pts worth of distraction.

I'm more annoyed that they weren't made troops/given an IC who could make them troops. How often will people take them competitively over the other elites choices?

The worst part in my opinion is 2 boxes of warriors -$70 for 24. 4 Boxes of flayed ones - $180 for 20. They have the same point cost, and I just don't praticularly like fine cast models most of the time. If and only if they were a troop choice i might actually have to pick some up as a troop they could be decent if you wanted outflanking troops.

They look terrible. At least the older ones had shreds of skin on them, this stuff on the new ones doesn't even look like skin, and isn't really painted like skin. It just looks like paper. Maybe it's because there's no blood anywhere, like they washed skin and tanned the skin before wearing it.

If the "toilet paper" were painted more like skin like in the old pictures and done right to make it look gooey and stuff. Than they would look really freaken cool.
But based off the picture than yes.

Even as a shop owner when I am getting much less its still too much for me for just 5 of them. Especially since I want a LOT in my lists lol.

YOu need some? Better convert some Warriors: Its cheaper and much better looking if you have semi-decent skills.

I like the two down the center, but that's it.

I'm just glad I had 20 of the buggers from the previous edition.

Despite the fact that they were really, really, really bad in the last edition.

Also, on a tactics note, try 2 units of 20 with the Stormlord.

Like everything else in 40k, they are only good if you spam them.

Not really all that keen on the new ones tbh.
The price makes it 100x worse.

Ill stick to buying a box of warriors, some GS and some plasticard
