Ok 2 Quick questions for any and all Tau players. If i bought say a shield drone for say a 12 man squad of fire warriors and or a crisis suit does the inv. save of 4+ go to the whole squad the controller or just the drone? and my second question is when making the save i understand it gets the same toughness and arm value as the owner, is this then declared as the same model for purposes of wound allocation?

So what did a squad of Fire Dragons say to the ork stompa?

Just the drone.

The drone is a model in the unit, same as any other, it just has a 4+ Inv save. It is NOT the same model, as it has a different stat line to the others.

Not so useful on FW, very useful on your expensive multiwound suits.

Shield drones protect crisis suits and broadsides excellently. On anything else, but maybe an ethereal they aren't worth it.

They simply add models to a unit that have the toughness and armor save of the parent model.

Since the cost is the same, don't add drones to FW squads, just add more FW's.
