So what does everyone think of a slight change to the 40K scoring rules?

A scoring unit does not make a transport scoring. Instead they must disembark to claim an objective.

The idea is to stop people from hiding in their transports (I know I do it too) all game and have to put their troops out on the table eventually.

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

Well... I put tacos, since the enemy infantry can't hide long in their metal boxes against me.

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

Haha, good point.

But I like the change, it seems rigged. Especially if its a lower points game, because then you have a major advantage most often.

Serpintine Heralds: CSM - 2500 points
Steel Cadre: Tau - 2000 Points
Blackpowder Legion: Crons - 2000 Points
Palanthine Purebloods: SM - 1000 Points
Hive Fleet Basilisk: Nids - 1000 Points
301st Dragonborn: IG - 500 Points

Actually... what if only troops inside Dedicated transports can do this?

Some units can take a Land Raider as a dedicated transport IIRC.

Correct Jefffar, Blood Angels people can take them ¬¬...

Also, i feel this will majorly screw some armies up.

Dark Eldar Would be one of them as i like to camp a 5 man wrack unit in a venom so as to zoom onto an objective to claim, or to just sit at home and keep my own .

I put tacos, because well, I like tacos.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

It is easier to destroy a single vehicle than a large unit.

You've all also forgotten BT LRC Spam. Literally every foot-slogging unit in the dex can take a LRC as a DT. Not sure if that throws a huge wrench in things, just pointing it out.

It also won't make a huge difference, as with random game length, you won't have to really worry about Claiming till turn 5.

What about only measuring the distance for claiming objectives from an access point, and then only if the vehicle doesn't move in the previous movement phase? That's probably a little too complicated, but it means that you'd have to bail out of the transport to claim immediately, or hang around for a full turn while everything in the opposing army opens up on you.

Just my 2 cents, feel free to poke holes in it.
