Does anyone elses cat drink your paint water? Mine always tries to drink it, perfering it over clean water. He seems fine, as i think its non toxic, but i dont like it. So are there any other players who cats do this?
Also he steals models and hides them under my dresser. Its funny now, but when he first did it i though i was going insane, because id set a squad out to be painted, turn to get my paints and then my sgt is missing.

My cat loves paint water. He quickly learned to stay off my paint table after taps on the nose and some harsh words. Now if he jumps up on the table a quick glance has him running. He also used to hide my paint pots, there is still a chaos black somewhere in my house.

Don't let the little furball anywhere near that stuff. Just because it's not toxic to humans doesn't mean it's not toxic to cats.

Haven't had this issue with my cat, but like the time I taught it to leave the bird alone I'd suggest a light flick/tap on the nose whenever it does it. Reward it if it just sits there rather than grab stuff and be a nuisance.

I'm currently not doing any modeling because of my cats. They snatch things away as soon as they become available. When I'm not home they take my brushes.
I have to do some reorganizing as well as some training if I want to get back to modeling.

At least your cat drinks paint water. Mine licks off the water on the bathroom floor right after someone showered. Then she'll lick me on the face.

Cats prefer "new" water, whenever they can get it. Use a bowl to water your plants and your cats will be on it to lick up whatever was left in the bottom. etc.
Just try leaving new cups and bowls of water near your paint area, and they'll go after them, rather than the passe paint water they've already drunk from.

You don't know my cat. If you give him a bowl of water anywhere else except on my painting table, which is also right next to the computer, he will dump it on the floor making a big puddle, then come drink the paint water. He's really crazy like that... He also likes to sniff my paint brushes, he will sit there and just sniff them, sometimes lick them or rub his face on them (to a lesser extent)
Thankfully mine learned very quickly that swiping models was a bad thing to do so he doesn't do it any more. Instead he brings cat toys to me to throw/play fetch with him.

Only due to cats stopping play!
My cats used to drink the water after id finished painting so i just made sure to empty it after i was done. I wouldn't want them drinking it regularly, especially if you've used metallic paints.

Try leaving out a model or paintbrush coated in hot chilli powder. It's easy enough to rinse off, and the cats won't want to go near them again.

yeah, that chili powder thing.. That only works with cats that don't like spicy food. I tried that with one of mine, and found out that cat liked spicy as much as I do. Mine never drank the paint water, or stole minis.

I didn't remember to mention it before, but that picture reminded me of another feat my cat does when I'm painting, I have a small lamp on an arm that I can position where I want, and either the cat's butt or head is usually placed directly against or under said lamp while it is on. He likes the heat.

Of my three (yeah, three...) cats one drinks the water, the dirtier the better apparently.
The other just sit there and stare at me. Small cat, BIG YELLOW eyes! They fit in a horror-movie.
And the third... Well, she's just a pain. Mostly she lets the complete minis be, they're not as interesting apparently. But those that isn't done is a blast to snatch she thinks. I can't count the times when I'm missing 2-3 guardsmen from a halfassembled squad.
Although, her favourite things to snatch is my bits to vehicles. I've been slaughtering a chimera and basilisk and some other tanks during the years, and that makes some big pieces. As soon as that box is out, she's there...
My soloution: A bookshelf with see-through windows. They're a bit dirty at the bottom, just because the cat's dont get it why they can't get to all those juicy minis.
I have had one model destroyed, of the old Vasa (a 17th century ship). They chewed the masts apart, so the model look like the wreck the real ship was when it was found...

My cat did a really strange thing today. I had my Dead Termie from Space Hulk on the table, thought it would be alright to leave it next to my cat. I went into the computer room to do some homework, and came back a few minutes later. My cat had curled around the Dead Termie in a sort of "protective" way. She scratched me when I tried to get it back.
