I have newly repainted my warlock, and after much labor, it is finished.
I typically like to paint my minis with nice, muted colors and go for a more "realistic" coloration. I can't stand orange with red shade and yellow highlights, so I want for a more realistic orange.
Also: could some one help me with lighting? I can never get it right.

Edit: I've updated the pictures, and hopefully they look better.

Looks great! I like the red faceplate, stands out very well agains the orange.

As for lighting, the first thing you can do is build a makeshift light box. I use printer paper to make mine and it works just fine. First, lay a piece of paper on a flat surface, tape one end, and lift the opposite end to make a curve supported by something behind it. Then, stand a sheet of paper on either side also supported by something behind each of them. A bit of tape helps hold things in place.

Finally, light the "box" from the top and front with natural light lamps as best you can. I use a desk lamp from Wall-E World I got for $20. Set camera to Macro and photograph at arm's length.

Here's some good advice on the matter:

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
