Hey guys, I just picked up a bunch of orks from my brother and I decided to maybe give them a try, But before I go out and buy what I need to finish the army I want opinions of others with more experience with the green menace.

And also, I am going more for the horde feel then meck as I also play BT and MECH BA.

But her is the list. It totals 1965 and I am trying to get a 2000pt list made.

HQ
Boss w/PK,Eavy Armor - 90

Big Mek w/Eavy Armor, Custom Force Field - 90

ELITES
10 Nobs w/2 Big Chappas, PK, Eavy Armor, Painboy, Waagh Banner - 330

8 Lootas - 120

8 Lootas - 120

30 Boys w/3 Big Shootas, Nob w/PK,Boss Pole - 235

Great foundation list, just needs a few tweeks to make it more competitive.

Kan walls really should take advantage of 9 kans. You can do this easily by dropping the eavy armour on your boys unit. Not really helpful and rarely pays for itself IMO.
Also, 10 nobs can often (always) be over kill Nobs are tough killing machines but KEED 2 or 3 powerKlaws. 6-7 nobs is ample.
Also, since you have a boss make your nobs troops. This way you can break up your lootas into 3 squads of 5. You can fire at more targets and don't waste points if they run off the board once you lose a few.
hope this helps. Forget Eavy armour on your Mek...he should be hidden amoung your boys. Also give you boss Cybork...Invulnerable save is more important.

I totally agree with skycapt44.

A typical Kan Wall looks like this

HQ
Big Mek KFF
Big Mek KFF

Troop
30 Boys, Nob with PK and BP
30 Boys, Nob with PK and BP
30 Boys, Nob with PK and BP

Heavy
3 Killa kans with Rokkits
3 Killa kans with Rokkits
3 Killa kans with Rokkits

This is the basic setup. You could change 1 Kan group to scrap guns. I like to add one or two grot groups to reserv and use as objective grabbers.
Add 3 groups of Lootas 5-6 man strong for some range AV hunting, be sure to put these guys in terrain at deployment, you dont wanna move these guys.
Take 1-2 Rokkit Deff koptas for early harrasment of the opponents tanks.
I am not that sure that nobs makes an effective choise in a kan wall since they compete with the lootas in the elite slot. You need 2 KFFs to cover all nine of the Kans.

I am not going for a true can wall. but more for a horde army and I just had the kans in there for more CC potential and something to hide my boys behind as they run forward.

And I want atleast one war boss, an ork army just doesnt feel right to me with out one!

But would Ghazkull work for a ork hordy army?

I love having Ghaz or a boss in my kanwall as I don't play Uber competitive and a typical kan wall tends to be very cut and dry sometimes.

Even if you are not going for the Kan wall I wouldn't change my advice as you are using a boss or ghaz why not make nobs troops? 10 is too much and they need PK's to be worth while. Also, a painboy is needed to get cybork which is far better than eavy IMO. To many ID weapons out there.

Loota advice also stands. 3 units of 5

If you don't want pure kan wall then what you have is pretty good. enough to give you cover like you want but you have the boys for the green tide. I do agree with Sky that 10 nobs are over kill and not needed. Drop the down to 6-7 with max 2 PK's and you should be fine. I personaly don't like 5 man lootas. i run 2x15 but that might be a bit much for you. I think it would be nice if you could fit 2x10 in your list. I agree making the nobs troops as well. Its not needed but will help in the long run. I might also drop your mobs to 25 and try to getting one more mob in there. More targets hurt them enemy. Drop the ard boys. They are way to expensive for what they do. You ould drop them and get another squad of 20 or so from there points. Not a fan of named characters but Gazzy is a mean HQ and would help you a bit with his 6" waagh. He is not needed though IMHO.

Well hope this helps.

Listen to ^This^

No one has mention the boss. He could have better wargear like attack squig and cyborg body. Ghaz will make you remove stuff from the list do not do that, go on add the three extra kanz, give them grotzookas for kicks.

The problem is he doesn't want a Kan wall. He wants a green tide with kan support.

Although I do agree with most of it myself.

Deff dreads can not hit anything. They may be ok if you give them the template or just the cc weapons.

Can we get more wound allocation on your nobz, that can be done cheaply.

I would like an attack squig for the warboss.

Apart from the dread which isn't great the list is looking good. The enemy(Crowe list ecepted) will hate it

Add 2 shoota/skorchas to the nobz(1 on a BC and 1 on a regular) and you've got total wound allocation!

Why are those rokkit kanz costing you 195 for 3? They are 50 points each, so 3 are 150 points. Looks like you've got some spare points to spend.
