I picked this book up yesterday and have to say it is very well done. My gaming group is about to start up a campaign using the majority of this very well laid out tome. I would love to hear from anyone else that has bought it and plan on starting a campaign. I plan on posting ours from week to week hear with what armies are participating, the lists, wins and loses, and even some pics of the battles. If this is of interest to everyone let me know, if you think posting these things is a waste let me know too.

Definitely interested!

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Hmmm, I spent my hobby money on a D'n'D book this week, and I am not really playing fantasy any more. Still, this is an interesting sounding supplement- a lot more up my alley than Storm of Magic.

I briefly read through it this morning while out at the mall with the wife. I liked a lot of it, it was about the same size as an army book for the same price. Full color and well laid out. Lots of good pictures etc. And there were siege rules (finally!).

It reminded me of the old General's Compendium if you removed all the hobby sections and took out the map (instead it uses the Mighty Empire tiles). I don't want to sound too negative, but based on my brief read through the General's Compendium is still superior.

Still the store's running a campaign with it next month and I would def want to join in (work schedule permitting).

how are the Seige rules?

Seige rules are brief but seem cool and simple. I like them and am wondering how to get a castle together...

I have a mage knight castle that we are going to use. I also have some odds and ends castle pieces. Starting up tomorrow night on our campaign, hopefully, but it still may be next weekend before we get real serious about it.

Exactly, now if I can just find something cheap like that

Also, in your sig "Trolls and friends". I guess you run a Throgg list, too? I think it will be perfect for beseiging a castle with since monstrous infantry can be equipped with things to breach the walls!

I have always found Seige games to be my favourite and most memorable games of Fantasy. How do the new rules work? Does the defender still get half points? How does attacking the walls work?

I really want my own Fortress (probably themed around Dwarves) for my dudes to defend...

The GW fortress is actually a pretty good value and it will work with the blocks of infantry that run around these days.

4 big wall sections, including 1 with a gate, and 4 towers for only $99.

Just ordered the book today at my local GW(LGS didn't have it in stock sadly). I'll post a review of the siege rules as soon as I get it read.
