Hey guys, 2 questions for you.
Is it viable to run a horded out Saurus Warriors? I was thinking of running a mob of 60.
Is it viable to run a list without a slann? To go really melee focused?
I was thinking of running a Lord on Carnasaur, back by 2 skinks on Engines of the gods. I'd also run a horde of warriors and some other goodies.
But is it possible and somewhat competitive to run a list without a slann?

I would not want to run the horde of saurus, just b/c of the sheer amt of points that would run you. When you put that many points in one unit, it is just too easy to take out half your army with one well placed spell (purple sun, ect). I run them in two blocks of 20-30 apeice, depending on how many points i'm playing. As far as going "slann-less," I can't speak to how viable that would be, but I would just not want to pass up easily one of the best "wizards" in the game if it is an option. I will admit to having a list put together centered around a Hero on a Carnosaur though... b/c that is such an awesome model... Good luck with the lizzies!

I guess. I'm honestly just afraid of them getting into combat, losing a couple guys, then running away. Figured hording them up would help a bit.

I've seen a block of 50 Chaos Warriors win a 2500 points game against Beastmen, killing 5 minotaurs, 2 chaos spawn, and forcing a GHORGON to run.
Big blocks of tough infantry are quite viable, provided you can protect their flanks and such.

If you're afraid of running, go for bus-es with a BSB, not hordes.

This is a deathstar, there are pros and cons to deathstars, this one suffers from initiative vulnerability.

Slaanless can work, but fitting two engines in a list would require a very high pts. game a single engine and maybe a foot priest would be the best you can usually get cuz you need a BSB too after all. As for competitive if you read Red Zeke's latest tournament reports you'll find out a slaanless carno list won best overall there.
