This is what i thought they would have done for the necrons. Thats why i used to love them. They were beyond normal understanding, changed by gods for a purpose thats not entirly understood. Time has no bearing on them, i thought the C'tan had some very evil plan for the universe. somthing was also brought up somtime ago about the machine spirit i think?
But i dont know the new necrons, they just look more frail. The old necrons had basic yet effective forms, the new ones seem to styled, busy. Too much going on, i liked the efficancy of the old ones. These ones feel too tomb kings.
What are others opinions on the new necs?
Also:
For machines there construction methods dont make much sense. They dont need to breath air, so why not sealed transports. Instead they ride into battle on somthing with well ribs, cross armed like there about to burst out into a dance routine

Yeah, the Necrons have definetly lost their sinister or ultra-threatening feel. Now they're just another divided alien empire that harasses the Imperium.

if they don't need to breath air, why have sealed transports? The only reason to have a sealed compartment is because you will want to keep some sort of air inside.

open space costs nothing to make and takes less resources.

Vacuum of space maybe?
The Night Scythe and the monolith are the main transport of the Necrons according to the fluff in the book. The Ghost Arks are simple repair barges from the earlier days of bio-transference.

And how does the Vaccum of space bother machines?
they don't have liquid componants that need to be protected from the absense of pressure.
Besides, Crons invade planets by dropping Monoliths and Pylons and coming out of the portals they have, not by shuttleing down to the planet like the primative creatures of flesh and blood.

Did the OP actually read the codex? The concept of Ghost Arks and their origin for the Necrontyr species is clearly outlined in the book.

Agreed. Ghost Arks are not transports in the fluff. They are mobile repair centres designed to roam the battlefield repairing fallen warriors. They can just double up as a transport. Night Scythes and Monoliths are their main transport methods now, both of which use teleportation.

They're an alien empire that conquered the galaxy by force once already. They have technology that is essentially magic when compared to the Imperium's already quite advanced tech.
They are in all ways superior to the Imperium.
"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
