if they don't need to breath air, why have sealed transports? The only reason to have a sealed compartment is because you will want to keep some sort of air inside.

Vacuum of space maybe?

The Night Scythe and the monolith are the main transport of the Necrons according to the fluff in the book. The Ghost Arks are simple repair barges from the earlier days of bio-transference.




And how does the Vaccum of space bother machines?

they don't have liquid componants that need to be protected from the absense of pressure.


Besides, Crons invade planets by dropping Monoliths and Pylons and coming out of the portals they have, not by shuttleing down to the planet like the primative creatures of flesh and blood.
