Is there any way of getting rid of GS off a model? Melting, dissolving, etc?
Ive removed the larger peices but i just was wondering if its possible to get rid of all the mess it leaves.

I recently had to remove some GS off one of my models, I just used a knife and carefully scraped what I could off

for small amounts i use a technique similar to removing mold lines, scraping W/ the back edge of a knife.

Yes, greenstuff has good surface strength, but underneath, it crumbles like blue cheese. Apply enough tensile force, and it will collapse apart. A good hobby knife and a pair of pliers should be all that's needed.

Alrighty excellent. What about getting it out of detail? Namely the chest aquila and elbow and knee tubing of a Marine. Just keep carefully going with the knife and pliers? Or is detailed parts a lost cause? Thanks for the quick replies.

If the previous modeller anchored the GS down with superglue, you're rather screwed. Chipping the GS out of the superglued parts will be roughly as easy as working with the plastic itself (at best). Doable, but perhaps not worth your time.
If it's just gunked in there then it should flake off pretty easily. Just keep working it with a hobby knife and it will all come out.

Oh this isnt an ebay purchase. This was just an old marine i found in my room so i know the greenstuff is just stuck on there without any glue of any sort. He was a very early attempt at scuplting a cloak and loincloth. Needless to say it was a horrendous failure. But as per your advice il keep chipping away at him.

i would try soaking the guy in Dettol. It strips paint, and I've heard that it eats greenstuff, but I may be wrong.
Possibly Fairy Power Spray, if it's a bit tougher?
If you've got any other more potent paint stripping methods, try them out. It's possible 1 of these other methods will eat the GS, if the Dettol/Power spray doesn't do the trick.
Good Luck

I used SuperClean to get rid of paint, primer, and greenstuff. A couple of day's worth of soaking in a cup, then I attacked it with a toothbrush and clean water-what hadn't been dissolved was made a lot weaker by the SuperClean, and I was able to tear the majority of it off with the toothbrush and my nails.
