I have recently been diagnosed with Osgood Schlatter disease as I am in the middle of a growth spurt. So, is there any cure for it or do I just have to grow out of it? Looking for permanent cures, not temporary pain releif.

Seems you might just have it until your skeleton stops growing.
A knee brace might help (they range from around $110-200 easily and feature external hinged bracing, but less severe braces can also be got for less).

human hamster ball.
Take NSAIDs to reduce the inflammation.
And DR Wikipedia says:
After being clinically diagnosed the patient should rest for at least 3 days and must try not to use the knee as hard for about 1–2 weeks without any physical activities. If the disease continues to a certain extent where the patient cannot move the joint then they should seek medical advice straight away as although this is very rare it can be severely limiting for the patient's sporting future if it does occur

I had the same thing when I was younger. I remember it fething hurt alot. It definitely gets better with age though, but I dont think it really every goes away. My left knee will still randomly shoot pain, and if I walk/work to much it gets incredibly sore. But definitely not constant like when I was a kid

My left knee randomly shoots pain all the time.
It's the result of a torn ACL and reconstruction, though.
Whilst the surgeon patched it up as best he could (damn good job with keyhole surgery), it's never going to be pre-injury 100% and the pain is always going to be an issue.
Hence my $200 knee brace and higher pain tolerance.

I was diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatter's Disease in my right knee about 7-8 years ago when I was really into my tennis, and my Doctor told me that it's related to growth and that it should stop when I stop growing, around the age of 25; this has been backed up by my PE teachers who went through it, and by other doctors and physicians.
Every time it flared up I wouldn't be able to move my leg for at least half a day, and this led to several rather bad incidents at school thanks to bullies but also due to simply bashing my knee on things.
It stopped me being able to play tennis at all and participate in PE for the first 2-3 years of my school life.
As of yet, there is no cure that I know of, only that you have to deal with it and dose up on pain medication (I got prescription strength ibuprofen).
The way i've found it is that when I was first diagnosed, the pain would come in regular bursts of weak pain, but as I grew would become lengthy isolated periods of large pain. The last time it flared up for me (i'm now 18) was a few months ago, so it does get more manageable if you can avoid bringing it on.
But really it's a waiting game, there's not a lot you can do (apart from perhaps physiotherapy, but that didn't help me, it might for you though) but wait it out. It's not a life-long thing, but it can be incapacitating, so i'd also be careful about what you do, especially using the affected limb, in the future.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

*Cue visit by Dr Gonads*
It is normally self limiting lasting 6-18 months with an average of 12 months.
Abstain or modify sports (the ones that flare the pain)
Ice packs
Pain killers (Don't use NSAIDs >2 weeks at a time)
Quads stretching
Graded return to full activity
Surgery can be used IF you have ripped the tibial tuberosity off the tibia.
I had it when young and remember having to crawl for days on end as it was so painful.
