Is there a character in the beastmen army book that can allow minotaurs to be taken as core??
i love the models but i want to make a monster army, and before anyone says it... no i don't want to make an ogre army.

The alternative is that i make a warriors of chaos army with throgg and take loadsa trolls, chaos ogres and giants. Trouble with that i dunno what models to use for the trolls. The river trolls are too obviously river trolls, i do like the bile trolls on forgeworld but they're too nurgle...they're falling apart... and the old chaos troll and stone troll models are horrible.

Also what do people think of the woc troll build? can it be competetive? if so how?

Your only option is the Brass Bull but to be honest I'm not sure if he does or if I'm just thinking of the last books Doombull

Taurax (I believe is how its spelled) is a SC in the Beastmen book, however neither him nor do Doombulls/Gorebulls make Minoaurs Core. Unfortunately you would still have to take Gor.

The closest you could get would be to use Tuskgor Chariots, simply modelled to look like monsters. The profile is already there really (S5, T4, 4 W, Impacts), its just a matter of making them look the part. Something suitably big and chunky, that looks at home on a chariot base, and can justify the stats would be perfect. Remember there are crew as well, so perhaps some handlers restraining it or riding on the back.

There is no way to make minotaurs core (though you could do what I did and take throgg but just use minotaur models) or you could take Ghoros and run a all centigor army!

Use them as woc trolls, they can be cure that and woc has quite a nice selection of big scary things.
The character you need to make trolls core i'd under 200 points and is awesome.

Oh you mean this army? http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/415941.page

People like Buttlerthepug and RTides have got some fairly competitive Throgg lists. Also over all it is just a great list and army to make and build I have found.

My local group has three throgg players counting myself, one mixes and matches trolls from a ton of companies and lines, one uses converted rat ogres as its a Skaven themed army and I use minotaurs. Throgg gives you options!

You could make a minotaur army using the Ogre rules.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

If you actually want to have an entire MI army you are either stuck with Throgg or Ogre armies using the Count's As rules.

If you do it with beastmen you will still have to take some sort of core unit.

the closest you can get is the bare minimum of core, then 50% of your points spent on Minotaur units, then 25% to spend on your General Doombull and any backup Gorbulls.

Right or to be more specific 50% minotaur 25% doombull or Taurox and 25% gorebulls. If you wanted to avoid rank and file you could make a 25% minimum core made up completely of ungor raiders and/or tuskgor chariots. 8 Chariots would work for 2500 and would look incredible next to all those minotaur.

I still take Ghorros and use centigors as your core then fill the rest of your army with minotaurs!
