Subject: Tank Shocks & DoG

My questions are as follows;
Who can make the DoG attack, any in an effected unit or only those within x" of the tank? Etc.
It is an instant hit - simply roll to penetrate(correct?); With CC or shooting, does AP- , AP1 or Tank hunters still count on the pen roll?
What prevents the Shock? Which results from the DoG & other factors like friendly models + impossible terrian?
Fallback move - when you fail your morale test? Can this be re-rolled via wargear/special rules?
Morale test passes - how do you work out where to put the squad IF the tank occupies the space the squad originally occupied (if that itself is possible)?
Thanks!

Only a model that was directly in the path of the vehicle may make a DoG attack. It is entirely possible and legal for a tank shocking player to position the vehicle in a way so that the power-fist/klaw, meltagun, lance, etc is completely avoided.

Autohit with any weapon the model has ranged or CC. AP '-' , AP '1', or tank hunters would apply as normal.

Unless the vehicle somehow immobilzes itself on terrain....nothing. Being inside a vehicle yourself work too.

I have no idea what you're asking here.

If you have wargear or an ability that does so, yeah no problem. What rule/gear are you referring to?

Move the models shortest possible distance so that they are an 1" away from the tank. This is a great way to force units off of objectives. Plow into the middle of the unit, sit on the objective, and force enemy models to move away from the 3" capture/contest range.

Bear in mind a tank shock must declare the distance moved before shocking (so if where you end up is important - eg on an objective - you must judge fairly accurately) and, importantly, shocked models that would end up 'under' the vehicle are moved in a way that maintains squad coherency.
I only mention this because I've found that tank shock seems to be increasing in use as a tactic but some people seem to overlook one or both of these important provisos.

For examples; Ork Boyz with a boss pole? When the squad is 10 models or less, IIRC.
Forcing units off of objectives, Judging set distances correctly & maintaining squad coherency - thanks. Good to know.
If your trying to tank shock & a friendly vehicle is in the way, it would prevent the tank shock? I assume if it gets immobilised or destroyed/wrecked then it won't cause a morale check for the shock.

Can't move through friendly models unless they are in the same unit. Doesn't work.
Morale check happens before DoG.

If the morale check is failed, what happens to the subsequent DoG step?

It doesn't. You can only declare DoG if you pass the morale test.

...and if a unit that's already falling back is tank-shocked again, it automatically fails the morale test and falls back immediately with no chance to rally (or to DoG).
So once it breaks, a unit can be tank-shocked again any number of times in the same movement phase, and has to fall back a further 2d6 or 3d6 each time with no morale test.
