I like the red and brown scheme, very menacing. My only criticism would be that the brown carapace looks a little flat. Some highlights would make the models look even better.

P.S.: The Winged Tyrant is cool, what did you use for the wings?

The winged HT is pretty cool and the guards are awsome, already liked them unpainted very nice.

i think that the shiny part for me gives them a good look also, like they were just hatched from a drop spore. or something.

When my girlfriend's roommate saw the close-up of the Tyrant Guards, she literally jumped back away from the computer and said "What the hell is THAT?!" I guess that means they're pretty damn good!

He's Lieutenant Raziel from the Soul Reaver series released in 2003. I don't know where you can find one now a days do a search for "Legacy of Kain" or "Soul Reaver" probably "Raziel" too on ebay and you may come accross 1.
The wings are soft plastic. If left on the body all day they'll droop alot, so about every now and then I have to take the body off and lay it flat so the wings will go back to normal. They've gotten better since they've been painted and minwaxed.

I'm thinking of going back over the models with testor's dull coat to flatten them out some. Afterwards, depending on how they look, I may give the carapace a VERY light bronzed flesh drybrush (probably more akin to a light highlight).

I think the Shininess (sp?) would look much cooler if it were only applied to either the skin or the carapace, but not both (as you currently have it).

Just my opinion of course.

I do like the color scheme.

Yakface - do you think it'd look better with shiny carapace or shiny skin? I'm partial to shiny skin but I don't know.
