Okay this was more of test battle for both me an my opponent, as this was my first game with Necrons and the first time my opponet has ever played them. Some of details are sketchy but ill do the best I can from memory. Sorry no pics.

Game was anihilation/spearhead. I win roll off and decide to go 2nd.

Lists-
Daemons:
blood thirster
2 daemon princes
2 units of blood letters
1 unit of blood crushers
3 units of shooty daemons, one had flamer templates

Necrons:
Trazyn
Overlord, miindshackle scarabs, gauntlet of fire

each royal court was the same- all lords had mindshackle scarabs btw
1 lord with res orb and warsycthe
4 lords with gauntlet of fire
1 cryptek with Harbinger of despair and abysal staff, picked up veil of darkness for him
3 eldritch staffs
1 with harp of dissonance and the staff that comes with that particular brand of harbinger

2 units of Warriors, 5 man strong.

1st turn-
Basically he DS in and shot some of my guys and I used RP to bring some back.

I return fire on my turn and charge in for an assault. Mind shackle works on almost everything I charge and therefore cancels out any cc attacks from him. I finish off what I charged into with gauntlet of fire.

2nd turn-
More of his stuff DP in. He only has one unit left with any shooting and wipes out a necron warrior squad. Bloodthirster charges in and kills off 2nd unit of warriors.

I use veil to remove myself off the board and DS anywhere on the table. I just DS to keep far enough away so that he cant assault me. Basically the rest of the game I just finish off his blood letters and or DS out of assault range, successfully running away from his army and beating him by kill points.

Notes on game:
After his first turn of deepstriking and shooting my Royal court wings, I would've put my army in reserve. Sorry btw the details are so sketch and not there. This was more of a thread to test out stuff. Anyways the crypteks veil of darkness worked well, mindshackle scarabs rocked of course, eldritch staffs did okay. Gauntlet of fires are good for hoards and cc suprisingly. So thats it, the list was tested and ill use some of the new stuff I saw that worked well.

That is an interesting way to win a game.

How many points is this game?

Also, this Necron list seems great for CC armies with limited shooting in a Kill Points game. Any other mission though and those two warrior squads are just going to die and suddenly you cannot win...

Remember Trazyn is a scoring model, so his unit at the very least can hold an objective while the other unit contests. They are very difficult units to kill with some nice toolbox abilities, but depending on the ruling for everliving they could be colossal KP sinks.

Good call on Trazyn, forgot about him. 1 scoring unit though is a bit rough too. I would be inclined to just sit behind terrain and go to ground the whole game after killing those wimpy warriors.

Well like I said, this was just a last minute thread idea. Ive never done a battle report and since me and my opponent knew this was a test, I didnt spell everything out but just throw out some details and hopefully you guys could find it usefull.

Anyways, Trazyn is usefull against units like mobs, nids or other units numbering pretty high, and yes he is scoring. When you put the cryptek that can deep strike every turn, you have a good chance to capture objectives.

We rolled for game type and I just adjusted my strategy accordingly, wich was lose the 2 warrior units but take keep the courts alive. I managed to kill 2 daemon princes in cc, same with 2 shooty units. With ranged weaponry I killed a blood letter unit. After that I just deeped striked and popped fire at stuff untill the game was over.

Test was done and I saw what I like, I saw what im not sure about and so on. Btw this was 1500 points. The Royalwing is good for cc, hoard and anit tank the way I outfitted them. Lots of flamer templates were in the units coming from gauntlets and one from the abysall staff.

Hopefully I can get one more testing session in today. Sorry but I wont have pics. I just started playing 6 months ago so im not up to speed yet.

Have a good day fellow players. Keep it light ; )

I hope I did not come off as critical of the report itself. I was mainly interested in discussing the idea of this kind of list overall as a TAC style embodiment.

The details were clear enough for me to follow the battle overall, and it had never ocurred to me to run this kind of setup. What about running Nemesor/Obyron with this list to get the extra CC punch and super Nightmare Shroud?

Not directed towards you, towards Necron123 and anyone else who doesnt know my background. Im sure ll become a shining star contributor soon, but untill then this what I bring.

I appreciated your posts calypso, thank you. I really really like nemesor and obyron and I can see some scary combos with them, PLUS you can get one more HQ choice. Ill keep playing around with more lists and see what I can come up with.

Here are some things ive observed so far:

-The RoyalWing can get terribly expensive and even more so with phaseshifters 3++ for the lords.
-Obviously deep striking every turn is risky but usefull in certain games/scenarios.
-The crypteks ability to deep strike with viel may not have to be taken. So far cc is working in the RW's favor so why run away?
-As mentioned before the ability to deep strike and contest or capture an objective if Trazyn is in there is goin to be usefull.

Some things ill have to find out:
-Goin to need to play around with how the RW is outfitted, how much is spent and how it does against all types of codex's/lists.
-Just one RW will probably be fine and use the massive amount of points on whatever else.

Thats about it for now.
