Here is a gaming board I just finished. It's a 6'x4' wooden board. The hills (more like mountains) are polystyrene plastic. The snow areas are textured Fortress Grey with white on it. The cliffs are Adeptus Battlegrey with Fortress Grey drybrushed on them.
It's supposed to be a mountainous winter area. These are just the board and the hills, I also have ruins, forests and other various terrain. What do you think?

Pretty nice - though I might be tempted to add in a few patches of ice blue to the table just to break it up a little. Might also be tempted to add in a few scatterings of snow flock to the cliff faces to simulate windblown snow adhering to the rock.
Other than that, you might like to think about breaking up the cliffs a little - add in some more crumbled edges, some more cut ins and rock spires etc... maybe a couple of rubble/scree piles?

I think it would look great with aditional scenery like ruins (especially if the ruins and stuff is made in a snow theme as well).
A really great base table in my oppinion.

The ruins and forests are indeed snow themed.
Ice however does not really fit into the idea I had in mind with the board.

I feel like a frozen lake surrounded by snowy pines near the south-east end of the board would be fitting. Great board though.

I would go for the ice! you could make it dangerous terrain sometimes the ice cracks and someone falls in the freezing water! But it's not difficult terrain ;D
Anyway, adding some rubble here and there could help alot for making it just a pitch more realistic, The vertical slopes are great for placing your models, it avoids in game difficulties (I geuss that's why most people do it), as one will not constantly fall down because it's too realistic (like being 45° slope). Great job so far! Love winter themed table's and stuff it's awesome!

Thank you for you compliments and your criticism. Can you give some examples about details that are not ice themed?

Good to see people are still making their own baseboards. I love it, the only suggestion I would make is to add some bluish pack ice.

I once saw a cool pipeline board in a citidel book. An oil pipeline across the board would break things up a bit, and give it a Siberian/alaskan feel.
