Okay I love Grey Knights and they are my favorite army. I am currently reading their novel, The Grey Knight Omnibus. Which got me thinking. How come Grey Knights don't have drop pods? They are mentioned using them in many novels, books, and stories. As well as all other space marine chapters having them. I play in alot of tournaments and am okay not having them then. But I an apocalypse campaign and would like to use it there, so my second question is what rules would I use? If anyone has some please share, if not ill just use the ordinary space marine one.

I thought they got lots of access to teleportation instead.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Teleportation is easier, and doesn't require several £20 models to use.

There's not point in having them because because most of there troops can deep strike.

game wise: drop pods are safer you can deep strike in the middle of the enemy lines without the obvious fear of a misshap.

hobby wise: drop pods are just super cool

i agree with the OP, i would love to have drop pods in my gk army for the reasons i mentioned. But they were always denied to GK s and adding them would need some serious changes in the book, like all the PA models not being able to deep strike without the drop pods.

Fluuf wise, DropmPods are used because Tacs can't teleport, where as GKSS can. Everything else bar Purifers and Pugators can , except Dreadnoughts, which have a Stormraven

When you are in a Drop Pod, you can be shot down by a lucky potshot or blast, or thrown off coarse.

When teleporting, especially without a Gellar field, you run the risk of becoming lost or destroyed. Gk do so even better, as they can protect themselves against the warp currents better, and as for attacking Daemons... Well, they are GK.

When Teleportation isn't an option, they use Stormravens, which can fight, are self retriving, can carry 12 Battle Brothers AND a Dread, rather thasn either or, and can carry JI. Not only that but the are more durable and certainly more mobile.

They don't have them because they were given ds, teleporters, rhinos, storm ravens etc. Why get drop pods cause of books when they got stuff like rhinos and storm ravens they never had.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

I'm okay with GK being a little more different than Space Marines and getting access to mass teleportation over drop pods.
