I play IG and have three Vendettas that I run with veterans. I use them to get accross the board quickly to capture objectives and for tank busting. I know the cons of squadrons but should I squadron 2 together to open up a fast slot for my hellhound, sentinels or rough riders which have been collecting dust? The vendettas seem to be fire magnets anyway and it doesn't take much to bust AV 12/12/10. thoughts?

Do you actually need 3 Vendettas?
If you want to add more FA on, couldn't you sacrifice a few? They may be cheap, but as you say, they are easy to take down. 3 of them will get taken down just as easily as one. Also, drifting about the battlefield grouped together, being forced to fire at the same targets and the like, just make you that much more vulnerable.

I'd run them in squadrons of 2 at the most.

Take a Squadron of 2 for Transport, a 3rd for other stuff, and then Hellhounds for the little bit of anti horde.

Thanks. I certainly wouldn't run 3 together, only 2. I just have a hard time not playing all three as they are the best point value in the codex. When I just had one built it was a magnet for every anittank weapon on the field.

The squadron rules will see them destroyed sooner and their firepower less effective (as they have to fire at the same target often resulting in overkill and an inability to engage as many targets). Also, trying to maneuver such large vehicles whilst staying within 4" isn't as easy as it would seem, and squadroning them will make it harder to capture/contest as many objectives as you otherwise could have.
I'd stay away from squadroning them from a purely competitive sense, keep them distinct units. The squadron rules suck hard in 5E.
Also, if you're running them primarily for transport, consider running them as Valkyries instead. If they're moving a lot, the Valk won't care as much in terms of firepower lost.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

What Vaktathi said. When I first started, I used to run three squadrons of russes with 2-3 tanks per squadron. I quickly realized how quickly they were killed and I was ham stringed by the fact that I could still only shoot at one target with the whole squadron.
If the squadron rule didn't make the squadron into a single unit, but rather each squadroned tank was its own unit, they'd be worth taking. Not now though, they are far too debilitating and really don't bring much to the table.
