Would it at all be possible to get a filter function for the thread search page?

Example: In the Painting and Modelling forum i searched for "stripping" and it came up with 2157 results.

Now no doubt i'd find what i was after before i get through them all. But it would make searching a lot easier if one could cut down on the possible results. So my idea would be to have a filter button that filters out say everything but the OP of each thread. That way you could find the question that matches yours closest rather then looking through a potential few thousand posts. So 2157 posts on stripping become, lets say, something like 250 posts. Would something like this be possible or is it just not in the proverbial budget?

The structure of the search engine prohibits it from being possible. The traditional way to filter in these cases is to use more terms, or the advanced search, but it is a bit complex and a bit of a pain with our search engine.
