What are all the current most competitive builds for chaos space marines?

I'm trying to build up a comptitive list from the stuff I own.
I'm assuming that double lash princes with 2 or 3 demolishers are still at the top of the chaos competitive lists or has that been completely neutered by the advent of vehicle heavy armies?

I havent played CSM in like a year so please do post any knowledge you may have

This is what i currently own (not planning on buying new stuff)

1 Abaddon the Despoiler
1 Ahriman
2 Aspiring Sorcerer
2 Chaos Lord
- 1 Chaos Lord
- 1 Chaos Lord - Jump Pack
95 Chaos Space Marines
- 55 Chaos Space Marines - Close Combat Weapon
- 8 Chaos Space Marines - Plasma gun
- 5 Chaos Space Marines - Meltagun
- 5 Chaos Space Marines - Flamer
- 9 Chaos Space Marines - Heavy Bolter
- 5 Chaos Space Marines - Lascannon
- 8 Aspiring Champion
1 Chaos Terminator Sorcerer
2 Daemon Prince
1 Fabius Bile
1 Huron Blackheart
1 Kharn the Betrayer
36 Khorne Berzerkers
- 32 Khorne Berzerkers
- 4 Skull Champion
1 Lucius the Eternal
3 Obliterators
7 Plague Marines
- 5 Plague Marines
- 1 Plague Marines - Plasma gun
- 1 Plague Champion
2 Predator
6 Rhino
20 Terminator
16 Thousand Sons

1. Tyranids - 15,000 pts
2. Chaos Space Marines - 7,100 pts
3. Space Marines - 6,000 pts
4. Orks - 5,900 pts
5. Dark Angels - 4,300 pts
6. Necrons - 4,600 pts
7. Grey Knights - 3,200 pts
8. Eldar - 3,400 pts
9. Blood Angels - 3,200 pts

My list is:
2 lash princes
4 terms, hflamer 3 combi melta 1 fist
Land raider transport
5 noise marines with s8 blast
5 plagues 2 melta
8 berserkers, fist
3 rhinos
6 oblitsu
Combi pred

Now, you dont have 3 extra oblits, nor the noise marines or land raider it seems.

Therefor, I would put 1 more predator in, 8 more berserkers, and fill the termie squad out to 8 with khorne icon

Are lashes actually competitive now? I hear nothing but bad things about them, which makes sense given the mech 5ed trend. There wouldn't be much to lash to

Lash of Submission actually helped start the mech trend because it was so brutally powerful against non-mech. It's still useful, more on Sorcerors hiding in units than Daemon Princes that get shot down before getting a chance to use it.

Man will you be prepared for the next Chaos book though.

Change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither God nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

Lash is still amazing, still wins games. Yes, you have to blow up transports in 5th ed, but that is what the rest of your army is for. Once a transport goes down, then double lash can whip them right into assault range, even on turn 1.

I'll agree with Lash still being quite effective. I prefer it with a vindicator/oblits or anything else with blast weapons. The oblits and anything else you have (chosen+meltas/termicides/plagues) will pop the transports, then you can scoot the passengers around however you like them.

I really wish I had all the models you do though...so jealous :(

For a while I ran the 2x lash sorceror, 3x3 Obliterators, then x5 PM squads with double specials (usually meltaguns) and a Berzerker unit for flavor. It works OK but it's not fantastic. The GK book basically made this army completely worthless: Lash doesn't really work, Oblits get pasted in H2H due to Force Weapons, Purifiers have I6 so even on the charge they strike first vs. Berzerkers...basically worthless now with gak like that in the metagame.

It still does put a hurt on some popular armies though. Wolfstar has a hard time with it, Deathwing gets beaten up, etc.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

Yeah, as others have mentioned, THE internet list is 2x lash princes, 2x units of 2 obliterators, 2x units of plasma plague marines in rhinos, a squad of berzerkers in a rhino, and the rest seasoned to taste, depending on if you like lashing more or rhino rushing more.

Of course, there are plenty of other competitive builds out there, but that's definitely the most popular.

Hullo Akaiyou, I haven't seen you since TO turned into Second Sphere (Which I can't access from work so I stopped going).

If you're looking for good CSM info, check out Mannahin's posts.

He's a very accomplished CSM player. I've been doing some research for my friend's CSM and Mann's posts have been very insightful.

CSM are still competitive. In fact out of 5 of the big US tourneys one was one by a dual prince lash list.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

The last year hasn't been kind to Tyranids, particularly DE. GK aren't as bad, but a lot of people have trouble with them.

TO turned into Second Sphere, but that place is pretty dead too.

As for CSM, I think they're having a bit of a resurgance with many players moving away from mass MSU mech to more balanced lists, but they still have their share of problems. I'm not sure how they'll deal with the new Necrons, but the limited numbers of vehicles makes me think CSM will be alright vs them.

Double lash can be effective vs necron and GK lists Overall I think the army is better off today than last year at this time

Any army that has a solid troops and HQ core and streamlined support choices is a competitive army, regardless of the codex. It just so happens that with CSM, their troops and HQ sections are amongst the most solid of all the codecies. So long as you don't go overboard on support choices (especially bad ones, like everything in the FA section...), you should be able to compete successfully with whatever build you're going for.

Just follow proper list-building fundamentals, and there is a very wide variety of good CSM lists you could come up with.
