If orks are notorious theives and are filled with the machine spirit and it is so interwoven into their fluff, why aren't they allowed to actually loot from other races codicies? Why instead are we given this lame "looted wagon?"

I would think that a point penalty plus some reduction in AV, R, AP, S, and BS would be appropriate. Make it WYSIWYG and blamo. Ork Monolith.

Well, keep in mind w/ Imperial Armor you can loot some vehicles, specifically rhinos at the very least.

The Mekboy Junka is also good at representing these rarer vehicles as well. Makes sense the Mekboy would use the weirder tech one would come across.

Basically, you used to be able to properly loot. Then they took it away from us.

But I'd say check some of the old rules. From what I can tell, they're generally balanced and unchanged, points-cost wise, so should be fine for friendly games.

Keeping in mind I've only recently picked up the game in the last 1.5 years, I find it hard to believe Orks would have the know how to repurpose any vehicles aside from imperium of mans.

Necron, Tau, Eldar, and Dark Eldar tech, seems to me, that it would be out of the Orks tech league. Now I don't know all the old Ork fluff or what they could use in the last edition, thats just a new players 2 cents.

If enough mekboys or weirdboys want something to work, it works. No fuss involved.

Not to mention, a lot of that tech is self-sufficient until damaged. Orks don't necessarily gut and re-wire everything- they're just as likely to figure out the steering wheel, on button and main gun, then just bolt armour and Big Shootas to it.

#1 rule of Orks: Orks can loot ANYTHING, no exceptions.



In older codices, Orks could get vehicles out of any other codex and loot them(use their rules with some changes and additions)

LMAO!!! That was great! Plus, keep in mind, if Orks loot a devilfish but it doesn't stay up on one side they'll just put a wheel over there. IOW, Orks will find a way to make anything work somehow, even if it does require locking a bunch of snotlings in a giant hamster wheel w/ electric prods to make them run to power it.

Because it would be as overpowered as hell.
