That is pure awesome
Although I suppose it does look a bit obvious in the front that the torso is separate from the legs, or is that just me?

No I see it too, but a little GS to fill in between the girdle and the loincloth should fix that.
It's a great looking piece with nice posing.

Great sculpting work and the painting on the finished example is absolutely gorgeous. I can't think of how it could've been avoided, considering the angle at which the head and arms are set and the way the torso joins on the original model, but I can't help but be a little put off by resulting pose - it's a bit like a posturing high school girl (hell, I know girls who still do that - at least they've moved on from the duck-face...), throwing out as much T&A as it can muster. It feels like a stout tap to the chest would snap its lower back. Again, though, I don't think you could have done any better, considering the part your were working with.
Anyway, seriously impressive work. Thanks for sharing!

Utilizing Careful Highlighting

Well, there's a reason why high school girls do that pose: it's appealing because it gives dynamism to an otherwise static figure by giving it an S-curve instead of just a straight line. It's the classic contraposto pose. Here's a description from about.com:
Definition:
(verb) - The past participle of the Italian "to counterpose", contrapposto is also an art term which describes one particular pose an artist may give a sculpted or painted human figure. Specifically, the subject is depicted with his or her weight shifted to one leg, causing that leg to appear rigid with its knee locked, its foot flat on the ground and its hip thrust out a bit.
To visualize a real life example of the contrapposto "pose," imagine a mother holding a 9-month old baby on her hip. Serious weight bearing is going on there, and that hip is necessarily thrust out in order to keep the babe from sliding to the floor.

No, it's appealing because boobies.
More seriously, my issue with that is that all the curvature is in the wrong plane. The hip thrust alluded to in the definition you provided is outward, in the "classic contraposto [sic] pose." Let's look at a classic (but not classical) example:
Note that the figure's core shifts over the weight-bearing foot and the hip is thrust slightly to the side.
If you want to get technical, I'd say the David tends more toward the S-curve than strictly "classical" contrapposto, due to the involvement of his torso ( Wikipedia can clarify more succinctly than I), but the point stands.
I would argue that the projection of the breast and buttocks has nothing to do with dynamism; it's simply meant to put them on display. There's no reason why this model, who is either braced or mid-stride on uneven terrain, would have his buttocks raised in such an awkward manner, except to align the join with a torso meant to be mounted to a horizontal body. The heavy backward lean of the torso would be equally ungainly, but is the only way to get the head facing forward. Again, I give the sculptor every leniency, as this is a conversion part which has to work with stock bits, but that doesn't stop the pose from being somewhat awkward, in my eyes.
