First time Dakka log-in but long time browser. My gaming buddies and I are having a disagreement. I believe there is one flavor of IG that most (not all) will clamor for if GW were to make it in plastic. So we are betting a beer on the outcome of this poll. As part of the rules - I can't tell you which one I would vote for.

If I missed any, I'm sorry. This was the list we came up with...and the main criteria is that MY choice is on it since that's the one I think most will choose.

Anyway, here goes...

Man, I'm torn. On the one hand the Catachan ork arms are horrible and I would love to see better proportioned Cadians, some plastic Tanith would be sweet!

Redo the Cadians. They essentially ARE the Imperial Guard. Their look are the soldiers people connect with the Imperial Guard. In all video games set in 40k, it's always Cadians. So redo the Cadians please.

Mordians. Simply include a second head choice and you can do Praetorians too. One kit, two head choices; one with the peak cap, the other with the pith helmet and bearded dudes.

These guys

Seriously, these guys would makes the sales guys heads spin.

That said, if it has to be an existing range, Steel Legion. I would say DKoK but i'm not sure they'd transition as well, and Steel Legion are almost as cool and could use an update. The basic cadians are fine as long as you can do something about the faces which all look like they're constipated. With different heads or the FW respirator heads they look great.

My thoughts exactly. I agree with Mordians, although a close second would be Tallarn.

Cadians & Catachans are fine as they are for now, I would like to see some of the classic Guard armies brought up to scratch - I'm sick to death of Cadia and the bloody Cadians, so lets have something different & more interesting.

Redoing Cadians is ridiculous. They just fleshed out the full plastic line and they look good. It would require redoing every vehicle kit to a degree too since they all come with Cadian bits. They look okay, and they're as out of scale as anything else in 40k.

I would love for the basic Catachan infantry kit to get redone, to bring it in line with the excellent command and gun team kits. They all have huge muscly arms but at least the ones in the command and gun team kits are somewhat in scale.

If I had to have any plastic kits though, it would probably be Steel Legion. The demand for dudes in gasmasks is through the roof these days, and the Steel Legion were doing that before it was cool. They're some of my favorite sculpts GW has ever had, and I'd love for them to get some plastic.

Tanith and Death Korps of Krieg, both would be amazing.

If not the whole regiment, at least give us a bitz kit to convert the standered Cadians/Catachans to other regiments.

I figure with Death Korps there's already more than enough FW stuff to get. They have as full a line as GW could have made, just in expensive resin as opposed to (comparatively) cheap plastic. Steel Legion have like 15 unique poses and no options at all.

I'd also love to see a Praetorian/Mordian kit with different heads, since that's the only swap you really need.

Salvar Chem Dogs.

Although you could just mix and match stuff from the Cadian and the Catachan ranges, a dedicated Penal Legion army would be great, especially for actually being used as penal legionaries.

I would much prefer a more coherent approach to the current lines over either a complete redo or a new regiment.

Basically, add a Cadian Veteran spure, a Penal Legion Sprue, and cadian rough riders to the current range.

Steel Legion, all the way. Snazzy looking army. Death Korps are a cool-looking army too, but with Forgeworld's range, no real need for a plastic range. But the Steel Legion are pretty damn amazing, I'd love a plastic range with a ton of options for those guys!

I want to see both female guard and Death korps.. but I want to see the female guard mixed in with the Cadians and DKok and others. They just need to add like 1-2 new thinner torso and 2-3 female heads.

Right, we don't need a single new regiment.

What we need is an integrated line of interchangeable parts.

The metal storm troopers GW is selling have to be 11 years old.

I want to see a sprue you can use to make storm troopers and vets.
A sprue with gas mask heads on it (I won't buy them but somebody will) and loads of other head options.
A sprue with just dozens of differently posed arms doing a load of stuff, giving hand signals, using an auspex, different weapon holding poses etc.
Long coat torsos and legs sprue.
Leg sprue with prone legs, running, kneeling, loads of options.

If I can't have all that then I will settle for storm trooper/vet sprues with loads of cool equipment and LOTS OF PLASMA/MELTA.

Problem with a lot of these wishlisting of plastic death korps/elysians/forgeworld regiments is that plastic does not equal cheap forgeworld...

Knowing GW, if they ever did come out in plastic (which the FW team stated they won't ever be in) they'd still probably cost around £36-40 per squad.

I disagree with this. The Cadian sets are just fine as are. No need to update them right now. There are no major problems with them, other than you cant get certain weapons in the shock troop boxes, but, that is it.

Since the Mordian Iron Guard are no longer available, I hope they make them in plastic. would be nice to see.
