Anyone else playing this game?

On some levels I'm really struggling to get the five skull ratings. Either it takes too long or there's so many paths to the rift that it's difficult to find a way to stop them all, especially those pesky little kobolds.

Rebirth gave me the most trouble so far, aside from the finale anyway. I'm currently going through all of my other missions and finishing them so I can get the skulls needed to upgrade my most used items...

I bought it on impulse during the Steam sale (along with about 15 other games), but I'm having trouble getting it working.

I played the hell out of it (I've got 20-some hours on it now, and 5-skulled everything up until the last 3 missions on War Mage) and I've got a few things that made the game much less of a headache:

1. Use combinations of traps - just spamming one type will never help. One of the best combos I use is using brimstone, then tar, then spikes.
2. Use your spells (and I recommend buying the DLC for the alchemist's satchel). I've tried going through levels using only traps, and it very rarely works. The satchel is a really deadly piece of equipment, especially coupled with a bunch of tar traps to get the orcs in a nice, tight bundle.

I love the game, myself. There's no straightforward way to play it, there's just all kinds of trap/spell combos you have to figure out and use in the right places. A lot of my own success came from trial and error with trap combinations. Best of luck!

My favored trap grouping is usually...

A = arrow trap, B = brimstone trap, C = coin furnace, F = fire trap.

If I can re-route the enemy in to a small area, I like to have arrow traps covering the crusher traps. With the stun and the steel weaver's trap reset reduction time, these two alone can murder tons of enemies. Tar pit traps can help too if you have the extra money (even upgraded barricades are expensive).

It's a great game, though I haven't yet beaten the final map.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I have it on 360 - just to be obvious it is worth playing through to the end and then going back to the start to pick up (the now much easier to get) extra skulls to beef out your traps for later levels.

There is also an OMD wiki which has some good level walkthroughs if you get stuck.

My personal favorite is swing traps or stampers with tar pits and either arrows or those rippy blade traps depending on how wide the gap is
