Hi guys

I just wondered what 40k tank looks best, some of the space marine ones do look epic once painted but it only the paint job that makes them look cool, whilst eldar tanks look epic but dont look 'Tankish', I think the best looking tank is the IG Baneblade, it just looks like a big tank thats going to pound anything that gets in his way.
Which tank plays the best is a more difficult question, the LRBT is a good all rounder BUT isnt the best armoured tank, the Tau can get the hammerhead but even though it has some sweet weaponry its armour isnt exactly the best it could be. the space marine land raider is quite good wih it 14 armour all round, but being a transport vhiecle it moves around alot so only gets to fire 1 or 2 of it epic weapons unless it stays put leaving the spuad inside to get out and walk. The monolith is a pain in the neck with its 14 armour all round (like the land raider) its as heavily armoured as it could posibly be but thanks to the new codex you can easily bust it open with a high strength weapon such as the hammerheads weaponry or with one that rolls two dice for armour penitration such as the leman russ vanquisher cannon (I have one of these, dead usefull with pask in it). I suppose different tanks play better in different circumstances, my Vanquisher is useless against anything that dosent have armour but when confrontd with a tide of armoured veichles it will easiuly thin out the tanks so my lighter armed walkers and such can deal with the rest. the baal predator is epic against infantry but its cannon even with the rending is unlikley to penatrate medium to heavy armour. As i cant seem to decide which tank plays best you can deside for me...

The Leman Russ looks elegantly brutal, with rules to match.

The hammerhead tank has somewhat poor armor, but makes up for it with deadly firepower. The option for burst cannons and missile pods as sponsons are superior to many other tank weapons. Plus, the versatile rail gun can pop anything in reach, or pie plate a horde of boyz on the advance.

I guarantee you that I'm not really as smart as the test says:

I really do love the looks of the Sisters of Battle Exorcist,
but on the table I would say Leman Russ with all its variants is one of the best tanks out there.

The good old LRMBT.

Tough armor on both the front and side arcs, long range jack-of-all-trades main cannon, possibility for hull mounted anti-tank weapon, Can move and still unleash an impressive amount of fire and last but certainly not least the ability to squadron for a silly number of them in a standard game.

Oh yeah, and it comes in 8 flavors

The landraider redeemer. A hunk of ceremite with guns.

The meaning of victory is not merely to defeat your enemy but destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavors, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory.

Not sure on how well they play but I do love the Macharius & Malcador tanks. The Macharius variants look like miniature Baneblades whilst the Malcador looks as though it is straight out of sci-fi WW1.

Leman Russ.

Second place goes to the Hammerhead for having an awesome gun, the ability to shoot as if it were a fast tank, fire its secondary guns at a different target, and have a 4+ cover save outside of 12". All for less than an a Leman Russ Executioner.

Third place goes to the Predator for being efficient, effective, and versatile.

Killkannon, regular kannon and big shootaz on top of each. Double-turret battlewagons look awesome, hopefully our next codex makes them viable.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

Leman Russ, there is no other tank in 40k that you can modify so much.
Leman Russ Executioner
Leman Russ Exterminator
Leman Russ Conqueror
Leman Russ Demolisher
Leman Russ Vanquisher
Leman Russ Annihilator
Leman Russ Punisher
Leman Russ Eradicator

And he has a strong armor to + you can put them in squads.

Sorry to disapoint you, but there are 153600 Ways to build a battlewagon, not counting the FW supa-kannon.

No matter, Battlewagon is ugly peace of fused scrap metal while Leman Russ is shiny battle tank.

No sponson russ with battle cannon plays best.

Vulcan Malcador or Storm Lord looks the best.

The russ is an ugly box, the same as pretty much all imperial vehicles.

For the best balance between form and function on a tank I'd have to go with the Tau Hammerhead.
