Subject: Best loadout for Killa Kans?

Courageous Space Marine Captain

My brother got Killa Kans for Xmas, and being 8, he doesn't know what would be the best loadout for them. I will let him choose, of coarse, but I want to advise him on what is best in game. Bear in mind he is limtied to what is in the box.
So, if anyone has any suggetions, i would really like to hear it please. Right now I am leaning towards all DCCWs.
Thanks to everyone in advance.

You have to give them either big shootas, rokkit launchas, or kustom mega blastas...........
I don't think you can give kans DCCW, and if you can, kans are made for shooting anyway. I would go with Kustom mega blastas personally

Kans have one DCCW and one gun. The best gun is the grotzooka since it's cheap and puts out tons of wounds.

Grotzooka is the best choise in my opinion too. If you want them all to be WYSIWYG, then big shoota and rokkit launcha are the second best options due to their low points cost.

The box comes with a skorcha, a rokkit, a big shoota and a grotzooka. Gortzookas and rokkits are both great options, if he doesn't want to convert any, Rokkits>Grotzookas>Big shootas it is. Skorchas are pretty much worthless.
Best option would be magnetizing all kanz and each of the four weapons, that way your brother can switch weapons however he likes. If if he weren't 8 years old, he should do that.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

So Rokkits, then once we run out, Grotzooka, then the Big Shoota?
Thanks for the help Dakka.

All Rokkits or all Grotzookas are the best 2 options, but like someone above has posted you only get one of each in the box.
What I did with mine is to get the BS and the Skorcha arm, shave them down and then stick on the myriad of rokkits that come in various Ork kits - Nobz and Boyz boxes both have a bunch of stuff with rokkits on, so you should probs have a few lying about to canibalise.
If you buy another couple of boxes of kans (and it makes sense as they work better the more of the buggers you have) You can do 2 lots of Rokkits (3 "real" and 3 converted) and then a 3rd squad of all grotzookas.

Yeah, pretty much exactly what I did Eeps. Still, I can't emphasize enough how important magnetizing them is - especially with 6th Edition appearing on the horizon.

I prefer to run them with all rokkits (I've got 9 in total), but I play against a lot of MEQ at my FLGS, so there's generally someone's day for them to ruin with rokkits. Another Ork player at my FLGS swears by the grotzooka, though, so YMMV with them.

6th ed might make some weapons better and some worse. It might also change nothing.

It may also change rules in such a way that vehicles become less powerful (like the return of the 4e damage chart) or something similar. Rokkits are largely useful against MEQs and light armor, and if that armor is replaced by more footsoldiers, then the grotzooka might become more useful in 6th.
