As long time BA player i am thinking about something new to add, therefore i would like to get my hands on DA.

Few questions I have.

I been looking at DA dex, seems like they have very weak liberians considering the LD9. How much can this effect a game? Is it even worth taking a lib?

On the other hand what would be the basic troop load out? I have been playing with idea of belial with his banner/apho sq with CML and 4x5 3TH/SS 1xLC 1xTH/SS/CML sqd's + auto/las predos or pure las preds prehaps supported with some ven dread with PC. How competetive can it be?

You have the basics of a Deathwing army down, but most people (myself included) prefer Auto-Las preds or Typhoon Speeders (MM/CML) as they're very, very cheap.

Either way, Deathwing is highly competitive, having 18+ missile shots a turn that can target different units is very good! And that many TH/SS's give them a lot of survivability!

I feel you have the right idea. I would suggest only spending about half your points on the termies this means you can squeeze more fire power into your list and also take all three typhoons apart from that you are spot on.

Belial with SS/TH makes him harder to kill though I can see the advantage with LCs.

Yes, the librarian is pretty rubbish. If you want/need the hood then take him anyway.
