Great guy. I have my doubts that too many people would have done the same thing.

That's really all I have to say to your comment, so I'll say it again:

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Funnily enough, if I found ten thousand dollars, I would go to Vegas.

I honestly don't know what I would do if I found 10k sitting around. I think I would have made it up to the point where the authorities simply would not help me, then I would just assume the powers that be wanted me to have it.

also illustrates the annoying thing about doing the right thing:

It's goddamn inconvenient.

Having to jump through hoops just to get the money to it's rightful owner? :|

i agree with Necroshea if the authorities didnt make it easy for me to return the money I would've just kept it.

I agree, it is woefully inconvenient for me to extract money from other people. It would be much easier if they simply placed on my doorstep, as the classical child in the basket.

10k worth of 40k. Or maybe hit up the local jelly bean factory and net yourself 10 grand worth of sugary goodness.

Or pay off your overdraft, buy a car, that sort of thing.

This. If the guy hadn't posted that he'd lost it, I doubt he would have gotten it back. That was a desperate move, but it did the trick.

If I lost 10k, I'd probably just cut my loses and cry myself to sleep for a couple years

Also, I'd probably just hang out on ebay all day and buy up all those vintage items that are vastly expensive
