Hey guys. Im looking for some feedback.

I played a game against eldar today, and got all but tabled. He left 2 immobalised + stunned dreadnoughts and 2 tactical marines. And using all of my fury and rage generated from losing so bad and the extreme pain from the bruise in my ego, i have generated this list.

Basically im looking to totally annihilate him.

(Just so you know, we are greate friends and we are playing for fun. even though im spouting alot of crap about him, we can both take it and give it in equal measure. so dont tell me i play to seriously )

Anyway, the list:

HQ:
Vulkan - 190

Troops:
Tactical Squad - Flamer, Missile Launcher, Power Weapon, Melta Bombs - 190 (Will be combat squad'd)
Tactical Squad - Power Weapon, Melta Bombs - 110

Elite:
Terminator - TH SS
Sternguard - +3 men (8 man in total), Powerfist, 2 Combi-Meltas, Melta Bombs - 240

Fast Attack:
Land Speeder - Heavy Flamer, Multi Melta - 70
Land Speeder - Heavy Flamer, Multi Melta - 70

Heavy Support:
Predator - Lascannon Sponsons
Land Raider Crusader - Multi Melta, Extra Armour - 275

Dedicated Transport:
Drop Pod - 35

Thats 1500, spot on.

Deployment:
The idea is that, the 15 marines and vulkan deploy in the LRC.
Sternguard in the drop pod.
Land Speeders and Terminators in reserve.
Deploy the Predator infront of the LRC for cover.

My Speeders will Alpha strike in and pop open his transport. He has fire dragons in a wave serpent, so they have to go.
Predator and LRC will move across the field as fast as possible.
Terminators and Sternguard come is asap. Sternguard eating into his Dire Avengers (He used blade storm and took out a squad of 6 sternguard today, so that will be payback). My terminators will have to sit tight, using their SS to save them from special weapons etc.
as soon as my LRC gets there with 15 marines + Vulkan, there will be hell to pay and i'll rip him apart

So, thats the general gist of it. All models i have used, i own, i got a few dreadnoughts, scouts, assault marines, librarian and a few other bits a pieces.

If there is anything you would change, tell me with a reason why and i'll give it some good consideration.
On a seperate, but still relavent note, how competitive is this list?

Thanks,
**Zambro

You can not get two units into a raider. Moving a pred is just silly.
Just in general no love for the list.

What models do you own? Please say three rhinos, or maybe 4 drop pods could work.

Remember that melta's and thunderhammers are master crafted. You need to have them in your list.

1850 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1850+ 1000 and counting

To me, it seems this list doesn't know what it's meant to do.

You have too few troops for much hope of winning, and a very odd list.

I personally have three ways to structure a list:

1. Something that I find works for SM, though it is not infallible, is to divide your points into 8 sections. Now, give 3 of those sections to troops, and two to HQ. Now invest the rest with 1 section each for Elite, HS and FA.

Or, something less indistinct

2. Think of your army in three sections: Attack, support, defend. Camo cloak scouts in cover on an objective would be defense, assault marines attack etc. and try to keep them roughly even

OR, the simplest, best way

3. Go for killy. Pick what's killy. Tac marines with missile launchers and plasma, terminators with TH/SS, Dreadnoughts etc.

I admit those are odd ways to build a list, but they encourage critical thinking and work well.

Something you may want to try (rough guidelines) is

Vulkan
2x5 TH/SS terminators
Rifleman dread
Predator

Then fill the rest with ML, Melta tac squads in rhinos.
