I'm getting a couple old school Mk I Rhinos in a trade and they look kinda weedy next to the current Mk II Rhinos. I know that both Chapterhouse and FW have kits to make your current Mk II Rhinos look like the old Mk I Rhinos, but has anyone out there tried to make their Mk I Rhinos look more like the new Mk IIs?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

You can use GW's marine vehicle accessory sprue to add more modern details to a Mk1, which certainly helps get rid of some of the Mk1's modelling deficiencies (e.g. the crappy bolters).

I wouldn't bother trying anything fancy re altering the rhino's dimensions, beyond perhaps custom-building some extra armour or adding some stowage (ammo boxes etc).

Couldnt agree more. In my SOB army i have a 50/50 ratio of new to old imperial vehichles and i have given them the odd new weapon, door or extra armour but did not think changing the actual shape would work, it would probably be easier to scract build a mk 2 imho lol.

Now the problem does arise occasionally when people wont play against the old model cos its smaller and they say it aint legal. I really dont know if this is true and its deffo a discussion for a another part of the forum but i only play against mates anyway so its never been a problem.

The old rhino is legal, it's a GW model that accurately depicts what it represents. Sorry for going OT.
