Now that's a Tank! I have to say, that 800 bucks shipped doesn't seem like that much for a model that size. What would 800 bucks buy you from forge world that would compare?
TBD wrote:What scale are 40K/WHF miniatures again?
If you consider them to be 28mm, then they are aproximately 1/56. However their "heroic" proportions, scale creep toward 30-32mm scale and the relative size of sci-fi vehicles, means that people often use them with historical vehicle kits ranging from 1/56 all the way up to 1/35. For modern civilian vehicles, I've found that 1/43 scale is an excellent looking scale along side 28mm figs.

Yeah who wants to be on the winning side anyway! I like my tanks hard to maintain and impossible to repair in the field.
And who needs fuel or ammo! Not Aryan superman certainly!
Anyway just for you, Panzer II in 1/6
http://www.hlj.com/product/CYVCH75025
and unless I have totally failed math forever, around US$200.
Very, very tempting to think of picking on up to build some sort of insane superheavy.
But Mrs Kyoto would tear out my liver and have it with a nice wine sauce.

With an average length of 19 feet for a real Sherman, that makes this model about 3.2 feet long...almost a meter for you metric folks.
Id love to have one. Would love a Tiger I in the same scale. They would match my 1:35 Sherman and Tiger. Automatically Appended Next Post: Kid_Kyoto wrote:1hadhq wrote:Double negative.

Nice. And RC is a BIG bonus.

Owning a near 1/1 scale tank model surely puts one on the winning side!
Yes, some RC vehicles are hard to maintain but need no ammo and run with almost no fuel.
Yours just lacks the ability to move at all, is a 08/15 design and you missed the russian KV2 i mentioned. Russians won too! Didn't they?.

They're not truly tanks, but the american M10 tank destroyer and especially the M18 Hellcat from ww2 are freaking sexy. The M18 will always and forever be the very first thing I think of when I hear the word "tank", thanks in no small part ot the old green plastic army men I used to have as a kid. The Abrams is incredibly cool looking, and has rediculously awesome performance, but it's no Hellcat.
Only german tank that comes close to any of those in terms of looks is the Panther.

I love being part of a community where people discuss the relative sexiness of tanks, like they're freekin' ferraris or something. My wife thinks that i look at porn, she may have a point...
