So, I've got a question about Deff Rollas......does the D6 S8 or S10 whatever the attack is take place before or after the ram or tank shock? I only ask because I could see it playing out differently in both situations.

Tank shock: When tank shocking a unit it is my understanding they have the ability to dodge the attack by simply taking a moral check. Does this happen before or after they are hit by the deff rolla? I know that if they stay and perform a "death or glory" move the carnage increases, but my question still stands. Do troops have the ability to dodge the rolla and the tank shock or do they get hit by the rolla and then test to avoid the tank shock? This rule seems very complex to me. I think that it shouldn't be, but it is something that I'm struggleing with.

Ramming: Which occurs first....the impact from the Rolla or the Ram Attack? I would think the Rolla because it is literally hitting the enemy first as it is on the front of the model, but you never know how the game's rule mechanics work.

I think that this attack could be really powerful against tanks, but right now I'm unsure about its ability to really kill infantry. But I think that the effect should be something like this..... for me and for my opponent.

IIRC the d6 str 10 hits occur as soon as you make the ram/tank shock. DoG applies another d6 hits to the unit. i also think the deffrolla kicks in before the actual ram is resolved.

All over

So the deff roll attack against troops happens BEFORE death or glory. If the person wants to death or glory they take another D6 hits

For tank shock it happens before you do the impact of the tanks but I think skimmers can dodge the deff roll but that is some what debatable on both ends both rules conflict with one another. Best thing to do there is roll a dice.

I believe it says when you make a tank shock (ram w/e) with a deffrolla inflict...

I can't seem to find my ork book, but that seem like to me that they occur at the same time. Much like to guys swinging at the same int (I know its not the same it's just a comparative example). The same would be true for DoG. Marine with TH DoG the battlewagon and rolla. He stuns you so you don't squish him. He rolls to glance/pen and you roll your 2d6 S10 hits on him and his squad.

I play it in a couple steps.

1)Declare tankshock and indicate path.
2)D6 S10 hits. Resolve these before next step.
3)DoG or move out of the way.
4)If DoG, swing at it AND take D6 more hits.
5)If failed to stop it, feed model into wood chipper.

This was the way I interpreted the rule as well. So, a successful morale check does not get the enemy out of taking the initial rolla hit. Sweet!

This is correct. The ram would be resolved after the deff rolla hits, as walkers might DoG and stop the battlewagon, thus preventing the ram, but still gets hit by the deff rolla.

Q. Does a unit that successfully stops a deff rollaequipped
Battlewagon’s Tank Shock suffer any hits?
(p55)
A. Yes, it does. In fact, it suffers 2D6 S10 hits!

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

The morale check doesn't stop the hits from occurring, nothing does. Morale check simply determines if the unit falls back or not. They were still tank shocked regardless of the outcome of the morale check (since they are taking the Morale check ONLY BECAUSE they were tank shocked), in which case, they suffer D6 Str. 10 hits.

Gotcha! Thanks guys.....the message is clear. Forget a second army. When done painting Kan Wall, buy battle wagons. It will play like a different force and krump stuff too!!

Thanks again for the rules clarifications.

If you have enough battle wagons rolling at once with KFF's around, you can mulch the IG parking lot pretty hilariously with a bit of luck.

Barely nudge the first tank, get a 3 inch ram on the second, 6 on the third, and so on. The damage from the ram will be nowhere near threatening to the wagon but the S10 hits will tear armor apart. Even cooler is when you run through a chimera, popping it and hitting the unit in side before continuing to the next tank!
