How tactically sound is the DC dreadnought? What would be the best list for him to be in?
I have 10 DC with lemartes/chaplain/reclusiarch and I have a storm raven for transport

Well the only thing that he's really good at doing is hurting infantry with Blood Talons.
You would need some form of claiming objectives, and rage makes them a weak boon.
However, if you suffer a lot of low strength shooting spam (IG) then they can wreak havoc on the battlefield.
One piece of advice is never, ever over invest. As I said, Rage makes them worse, and they often have a habit of exploding.

Keep them cheap, throw them at infantry and watch as it either turns them into a fine paste, gets a decent chunk of fire power leveled at it, or gets led of a merry goose chase by a Eldar Vyper.

So the DC version is how should I say it...Worth more than the normal furioso? I guess the next step is, is the furioso worth it as well? I have 1 for the storm raven to carry but I was thinking about a DC on the raven and then drop podding a 2nd.

The DC dread has great abilities for its cost, but Rage is arguably the worst liability of any special rule in the game. Not being able to control your own movement is awful.
DC and DC dreads really need to be transported and properly supported (including by shooty units to shoot down Fast Skimmers and other likely units which will be used to lead them a merry chase in the wrong direction) to be good.

What kind of shooty units do you feel fill that role? I have 30 assault marines with hopefully 4 baal preds by the time this army starts and I was going to potentially give the DC dread with the DC and lemartes a homing beacon to drop in EVERYTHING sang guard included in the middle of an army.

Not a fan of the DC dread + DC in a storm raven. It's far too much whoopass for a 200+ point AV12 vehicle to carry without getting shot down.
Even less of a fan of deploying a DC dread on foot due to rage.
I think 1 or 2 of them in a drop pod is a great idea. They can pod in and melta or pop smoke for cover, then on the next turn they are absolute monsters in CC with fleet to boot. Plus once they pod into the middle of enemy lines their rage is far less of a liability. The question to ask is do drop pods fit into my army? If the answer is no forget about DC dreads.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

I have ALOT of deep strike in this army and ALOT of fast moving. I think it could work really well. I didn't know you could put two dreads in one drop pod though O.O

I flopped back and forth on dreads for a while, and found that magna-grapple is a godsend to rage.
If that skimmer that's trying to lead you around is within 18", you can move 12 and fire grapple at it (along with your melta gun).
Should that annoying skimmer survive, you drag it closer and assault it. The 2D6" drag is much better than the D6" fleet.
The thing with rage is that you can't count on it doing anything specific. The thing with DC dreads, is that you can count on your opponent having to deal with it in some way. You simply can't ignore those things.
My theory is throw the thing at the enemy, and write it off. Anything it does after that is all bonus.
If it does nothing... well, I play Lamenters for a reason.

Lol that's kind of how I've felt through out the whole thing about the DC. Everyone calls them exepnsive and a waste of points. But, think about the fluff. They are CANNON FODDER. Why use them for anything else? I don't care about the rage effect tbh you know it's going to happen so I plan on it =) call them the distraction to get the mephistion my deep strikers and the rest of my units in safely. I just didn't know how well the DC furioso would do. I guess I'm gonna have to get a couple drop pods XD how many assault units can you put in a drop pod?

I don't think DoA is a "use it all the time" strategy. Sometimes your opponent will be as assaulty or more assaulty than you, and dropping right in his face will just be giving him the charge. As for shooting support, I think the key is mostly stuff with long range, to try to eliminate likely "bait" units from across the table before they do their job. Baals with AC aren't bad, but regular Preds with AC/Las sponsons have a larger threat radius. Dev squads with missile launchers (and maybe a lascannon to get extra value out of the signum) are also pretty cheap & good and compatible with a mostly-jump army.

Here's the thing, though. You're paying all those points (though less than a LR) for the ability to transport two assault units in one Fast Skimmer with the assault vehicle rule. There's always a certain level of gamble involved with the SR, as it is a lot of points in one place, but it is a high reward possible for the risk you're incurring. You can of course reduce the risks through careful use of the SR; such as Reserving it when you're not going first.

I take two in Pods. makes my opponent deal with them while the rest is gunning at them full speed. If they survive, they eat through things fairly well.
At the very least they're good for area denial. That juicy objective grouping doesn't look near as inviting with a DC Dread waiting for your scoring units to approach!

Sounds like a great way to use them. The only downside, of course, being in Annihilation games.

Great thread, lots of nice tips! For some reason, I hadn't realized Lemartes could fit in a SR along with 10 DC, allowing 2 DC dreads to be fielded.
Consider the idea stolen (since putting jump packs on the DC is so expensive, and Lemartes can't ride with them in any other transport).

I'm going to look at a drop pod today lol, you guys have THOROUGHLY convinced me the idea sounds like a blast. My main opponent for the time being will be imperial guard I have 30 assault marines with 3 rhinos for transport.
But the main attraction is going to be the storm raven and a drop pod XD.
I think someone said the scarey part is annahalation games and in that way I would set up to give the death company A LOT more fire support just to make sure that rage gets HOPEFULLY two full turns of rawr-face-rawr in.
