Anyone know of any good tutorials for this? Or does anyone have any good tips or inside info? I understand you can simply throw a small chunk of green stuff on a bald head and call it a mohawk, but that's not quite what I'm going for. I'd like to see the technique for giving it that dimpled hair texture.

Unfortunately, my experience level with green stuff is pretty novice thus far. Thanks for the help.

find something with a rough texture to match what you're looking for and press it or roll it across the green stuff hair while it's soft. Something like a coarse Dremel sanding wheel might work

Coarse sandpaper would work to get your top texture, as would simply poking at the top with a pin a bunch of times. That same pin or, better yet, a knife blade, can be pressed into the sides to give the impression (see what I did there?) of standing hair. I'd advise doing this after you've let the rough shape start firming up a little bit. Not too much, mind you - just enough that it loses a bit of tack and you can poke at it without smushing the entire shape.

Oadie knows where it's at. Cut some lines with a knife after it's set for a little bit and poke the top with a pin a few times to get the impression of hair ends and you're set.

isn't there a space wolf head or two that have mo hawks?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

im guessing by "buzcut" you mean a jarhead/us marine type cut ..get a tiny strip of GS like a very small peice of rice pop it on top of the head lenght ways then smooth the edges down wet it and with a wet old toothbrust gentaly push the bristles in to the green stuff . you can then tidy up the edges with a knife .
